1.) All feature their title in the lyrics
2.) All feature lyrical passages that are repeated several times throughout the song
3.) All talk about some kind of fear:
"I'm frightened for my life"
"In the warmth of my fear"
"Desperate shooting" (this one doesn't really fit to be honest)

All have their title as the last line of lyric, except for Trial of Tears, which has 'Deep in Heaven' as the last words, which is the title of a movement of the song.

In all three songs there are parts where the narrator speaks to a "you" (not sure how I should phrase this, I hope you can understand what I mean :D)

I don't believe there's any hard rule about it. If people get really stuck, I'd try more hints if possible before giving it away though.
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

 Here's a hint:
Peruvian Skies could replace any of the 3 songs

Yes u r right
The 3 songs share references for cities being New York, Echoes Hill and Tuscany, and that is why Peruvian Skies could join as well.

That's actually quite logical, how come I didn't think about it?

I have an idea for a new trio of songs, but I'll post it only if you guys let me go next.

Throughout the ages all of them have been played with snippets of songs by other artists in them. (very unlikely)
All had some sort of extension when played live.

No. The correct answer is related to live performances, though (as you probably guessed from my previous post).

I know TLF and Metropolis were performed when Charlie was still in the band... Was TTT as well? I'm not even sure, just making a guess :lol

I don't think there's any way in hell Charlie could have sung two seconds of TTT  :o :D

Every song featured JLB hitting F# live.
You recently bought the CD of the first time they were performed in a single night.
There hasn't been a single tour without 2 out of the 3 of them being performed. (at least partially)

Though in the case of TLF it was actually playing an earlier version of the song, it happened that all the three songs were performed without one or more verses (TTT in 08-09, Met in 97-98 and in various occasions and TLF on WDADRU).

None of the answers have been correct yet. I'll give you a hint: I'm referring to a single (special) performance of each song - 2 of them happened at the same show.

They all were played live with a person who was in DT at some point, but not at the point of that show-

TLF with Charlie in 2004
M1 with Derek and Charlie in the same show
TTT with JR at "The Rudess Experiment 1994" show

Or is it just a special guest live jam because there's a video of Joe Satriani coming out for the jam at the end of TTT?

All have been used as an encore in the ADTOE tour.

Though that's probably too easy, isn't it?

This isn't live, but I noticed that in the order you listed them, the first letter of each song spells PMU. :P
