7 string guitars. Not sure about TTTSTA. Actually, I'm pretty sure TTTSTA is played on a six string. Oh well.

You're wrong. TTTSTA was played on a 7-string.* Which means you're right as well. Your turn!

* On the album at least, you can hear the low notes from the B-string here and there, specifically under the guitar and keyboard solos. Live Petrucci played this on a six string on Score (just watched it). I assume because there's literally no time to swap guitars after War Inside My Head.

- all songs have something unusual going on for DT;
      - ANTR has MP growling
      - Lines in the Sand has guest vocals from that King's X guy
      - Another Day has a saxophone solo

- lyrics by JP
- all contain a guitar solo
- all feature MP, who's not in the band anymore
- all start with an 'A', except LITS, it starts with an 'L'
- James LaBrie sings on every track
- John Myung plays bass on every track
- ANTR utilises blast-beats, all other songs do not
- ANTR is played in drop C, the rest isn't

Sorry for nitpicking, but ANTR is in standard C. Anyway, I have no idea what the correct answer could be :lol

Oh, I didn't know, I never tried it. As soon as I have to tune down anything more than Drop D, I won't play it.

JP has never really used drop tunings - Home and (a part of) the 6/8 section in The Great Debate are in drop D, but that's it.

And I think LNF?
And I didn't know about TGD having a drop tuning anywhere. The more you know!
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

LNF is in D-standard. I guess he has indeed used drop-tunings very sparingly.

Yeah, it's just a small portion of the song and obviously he plays the whole song in standard tuning live, but you can hear a low D at least in the final chord before "Harvesting existence...". Reminds me of how he used a 7-string in the instrumental section of TTTSTA (as mentioned above), although the rest of the song is played on a 6-string.
LNF is in D-standard.
Yup, JP confirmed this in the track-by-track breakdown of ADTOE at Music Radar.

Oh ok. I knew it was D, I just thought I recalled someone mentioning very recently that it was a drop tuning.

He does indeed use them rarely, especially considering how many songs DT have that are down-tuned, and involve heavy riffage.

I've been staring at the back coves for the past 5 minutes and have no idea what you mean :P for the record; I'm looking at three original releases; no reissues whatsoever. I'll have a go again in a couple of hours, I want to solve this one :P

The songs lengths, if taken as individual digits, all add up to 8?

ANTR: 16:10, 1+6+1=8
LITS: 12:05, 1+2+5=8
Another Day: 4:22, 4+2+2=8

Second word starts with an M? :lol

I consider myself a) very knowledgeable when it comes to all sorts of DT trivia b) very good at making logical connections, but whenever I look at any of these, nothing comes to mind. :(

Well, it's either that or something related to their position in the tracklist, since we don't know anything about Enigma Machine.

Maaaaybe we should revert to tribonds that are about the song itself, rather than its title or its track number  ::)

Well, the OP states it can be about anything, as long as it relates to the song. So I suppose titles count as well. However, this was just a quick step-in from me. Milena can post a better one. I like this game as it is, but I've always likes figuring things out. The fact that it can be about anything and everything only makes it more interesting I think.
