I really appreciate JP's willingness to discuss the new album without giving spoilers.
I couldn't help but notice (or imagine), when other members give answers in the Twitter Q&A, that JP always looks at them in a sort of a "good, you're not saying something you shouldn't yet say" kind of way
I'd like to think the reason that a lot of the questions and answers are slightly mundane is cos they're the only usable ones. All the best questions, John Myung's been spouting off, going, "Oh, yeah, track three, Earthquake, it's an absolute blast - it's like this sort of cacophonous metal, ragtime swing, walking bass line, my idea, not like anything we've done before, not everyone's gonna like it but it's going to be so much fun live, I swear." Then he sings the chorus, the rest of the band join in - swaying, waving lighters, Mangini lighting up a fat cigar - and JP's just there on the sideline, arms folded, glowering.
They settle down, and the next question is from @turtleporridge192929 - "Will the new album contain any guitar solos?"
"Well, yes, turtle porridge, I can confirm that I've recorded some ripping guitar solos, and we can't wait for you to hear them."
