Well no shit. He's a good addition to any band.

But he should be in DT!

They have brought the Rev back from the dead using Frankenstein technology. Of course, this means no more singing.

Though, I think undead groans might actually be an improvement on the Rev's vocal style.
I felt its length in quite a few places.

But he should be in DT!

I don't really think so anymore, after all the things he did after the "break-up", i don't think he deserves to be in DT.
But again that's what i think. :P

Revisited Raising the Fallen over the past few days. It's a lot better than their two newest ones. Obviously there's a big difference and they've become more mainstream, but while they have a few good newer songs, Fallen actually feels like they were writing an album rather than a collection of songs.

Yup, this is in Joe's MP thread as well, potentially interesting if true. If he isn't going to playing with them then I wonder who they would get instead!

For me

Waking The Fallen > Sounding The Seventh Trumpet > City of Evil > Diamonds In The Rough > Nightmare > Avenged Sevenfold

Yeah yeah I know people hate STST but it's the album that got me into the band in the first place and although it's messy I love the energy of those songs, not to mention the drumming is out of this world considering how old they were when it was recorded. I admit, were it released now I probably wouldn't give it a second listen but the nostalgia factor alone keeps it a fave for me.

Ah yeah I also agree with that, didn't see there was the exact same rankings but including Diamonds In The Rough.

Although I think a few more ">"s should go in there.

Nightmare > City of Evil > S/T > Waking the Fallen > Diamonds in the Rough > STST

a7x are pretty much my favorite band to ever exist, with only a few bands being on par. I'm really looking forward to the new song coming this weekend, too.

I also agree with the above statement, STST is pretty awful, haha. Warmness on the Soul and To End the Rapture are pretty decent songs, but the guys have much better to offer on their other releases.

STST is worth it just for To End the Rapture... Shattered By Broken Dreams is pretty cool as well.

From the A7X Facebook page

Quote
Avenged Sevenfold regretfully announce they will not be performing at the upcoming Soundwave in Australia. After much effort, the band decided that they could not offer fans the live experience they have come to expect and didn’t want to disappoint them. Avenged Sevenfold will return to Australia soon to headline their own tour.

Hmm, could not offer fans the live experience they have come to expect? Sounds like MP may be out.

Yeah, it's disappointing to hear that. I'm not completely sure if it's all about MP but it probably has a good deal to do with it.

I hope things get smoothed out soon.

I can't understand how you like this band people, the line up seems the new x-men movie:

M. Shadows
Zacky Vengeance
Synyster Gates
Johnny Christ

Sounds artificial a lot and it's like a pop band masked between guitars.

I don't like their image or the fact that they have stage names, but to be honest I heard the music before I saw them, heard their names or knew that they had a lot of fans that I wouldn't like, so I just judge them by the music...

Disappointing that Mike Portnoy isn't staying with them - as a band that has produced a lot of great music but could potentially become better or worse depending on what direction they go, I think they'd really have benefited from his influence, as well as just his drumming talent. If it really is like he makes out, that he was willing to stay with them but they let him go, then they seem to be idiots.

If you have a problem with the music by all means bring it up...
