I've been all up and down the internet the past 2 weeks, reading about this band and the new album. I can't honestly remember where I heard about the whole Fiction and A7X fans thing, but it was kind of a "I read it in passing" sort of thing. It stood out enough for me to be like, "wait, wtf is going on".

I'm not generalizing all A7X fans. My dad is a huge fan of them, he does not like DT and progressive music, but he loves Fiction and the more progressive elements on the album as well as the more 'classic' A7X elements.

Listened to City of Evil yesterday and listening through again now. It's quite good, but I definitely prefer the self-titled. Just more quirky and with a greater sense of melody.

I don't actually dislike their other songs, I just think they're kind of boring and I don't like M Shadows' voice. (he is the singer right?  )

They also look like douches, but then I'm a John Mayer fan so I can't comment on that.

I really don't know why, because I think it doesn't work at all with a lot of bands, but the image thing they've got going, along with their stage names and crap, just work for me.

Band and stage names and images never effect my judgment of music, I suppose theirs is silly but it's a shame most people shun this band solely based on their image and the average IQ of their fans (though I can understand someone not liking M. Shadow's vocals).
