What can I say, I'm a bassman.
Wasn't hard picking my least favourite, but it is hard letting people go at this stage cause you've all sent me plenty of quality stuff. First, a very minimalistic piano piece that kind of reminds me of Nils Frahm. Honestly, the only stuff I've heard from Olafur Arnalds was Old Skin which features the Agent Fresco singer. I really dig that, but minimalistic piano music - or piano music on its own - is honestly something I never really enjoyed that much. I think one of the only times someone got me to really like something ambient/minimalistic was with Villa del Refugio by This Will Destroy You, and it might just have been because I did one of the listens while on shrooms.
Next up we have a black/death metal kind of tune with lots of emphasis on atmosphere. Some really empowering stuff here at times, but on the whole not something I see myself return to on an individual basis. If the album would be good and I can dig the vocals, this seems like a nice song to be surrounded by that. And last we have the longest song of the round, which already lays the foundation for my main / only complaint. The riffage was good, pretty brutally sick at times too, and I have to say it got better over time. But the length was an issue for me here, it was one I had some struggles getting through sometimes even though when you take out the subpar moments or meandering moments it becomes a damn good mid-length metal instrumental.
So overall this probably wasn't one of my favourite rounds, but I got some good stuff out of it, and I believe most bands I received do not exclusively make instrumental music so that could be interesting to delve into some of them and see what they're like normally. Unfortunately, I have to kick out the participant that has sent me a lot of the best songs of the entire roulette here. Sorry home, that was a bit of a miss for me.
