Haha yeah, I've kind of grown used to the odd vocal melodies, and some of those piano patterns are really cool and groovy. I might actually listen to the album after the roulette, it wasn't bad.

Here are y'alls songs, let's see if you can figure out who sent what (Parama's was already guessed):

Parama: Enslaved - Hiindsiight (9:33)
???: Lör - Eidolon (11:58)
home: OWEL - Float (6:37)
???: Aereogramme - Dreams and Bridges (4:40)
???: maudlin of the Well - They Aren't All Beautiful (5:37)
???: Sunny Day Real Estate - Seven (4:46)
???: Port Noir - Black from the Ink (5:29)
???: Kingcrow - In Crescendo (11:00)

So only 3 of you decided to use the extended time limit, for better or for worse, we'll find out soon :corn I'm glad I finally got that Six Roaming Owls solo project by Mr. Owel though, been waiting the whole roulette to get that

Nice,

I listened to Owel a few years ago when Coheed and Cambria shared a video of Owel covering a C&C song, it was pretty good. Not listened to anything else though.

I'm guessing home sent Owel and Tomi sent maudlin?

1 for 2, home did send OWEL

Damn, decided to do my first listen before the exam after all. Very strong round, better than the last one even. Right now I got a clear top 3 in my mind and #4 and #5 not too far behind, and not too far behind those are my bottom 3 but there's not a single bad or even meh song here. I could see any of the songs not in the current top 3 dropping down to last place after more listens, it's very close. This is gonna be even harder than last round :lol :corn

Nah, next couple of days will be relatively quiet for me in terms of workload so I expect to be done with this round reaally quick. You can expect writeups starting either tomorrow or Friday late morning/early afternoon, gonna start my second listen soon and will probably get 2 more in tomorrow.

I'm a little surprised someone sent Sunny Day Real Estate. That's a pretty good song, although probably not the one I would send if I sent SDRE. Then again, what do I know I got kicked out already  :P
:lol
You never know, I get bad ratings/kicked out of roulettes when I still feel I know the host's tastes quite well. You're welcome to PM me whatever you would have sent, or other stuff you would have sent if you were still in. I always check those, but priority is lower than current roulette stuff of course.

I thought to see more 9+ minutes song.
I know more bands sent this round than all the other rounds combined and I'm surprised I didn't see that Enslaved wasn't banned. I have yet to listen to their last album but In Times and Riitir had some very good songs despite the style of harsh vocals is not something I usually like.
Elite probably sent maudlin of the Well. I love some songs on Bath like Heaven and Weak and The Ferryman, the song sent is the heaviest of the album and it's great, but I don't recall much of the other songs apart that it's a weird and unbalanced album but very cool.
I thought about sending In Crescendo by Kingcrow. Great song but it's the only song of them I like and listen sometimes, the rest didn't interest me.
Port Noir opened for PoS last year and were great live.

I relistened the album this morning and it's cool if you are in the mood. Proclamation is still my favourite and the last track is a reprise of that song, a different and shorter version of Proclamation. You could hear only that one if you want.

Eidolon has a couple power metalish passages at the beginning, but you apparently you didn't make it through the whole song. And the rest of the album I wouldn't consider power metal at all. Besides, I'm pretty sure throwing shade at another guys' songs in an attempt to sway the judge is a big no-no.  You've been reported to the Roulette Bosses.

Yeah, like Take Your Time is a good song on that .fun album

Okay, definitely will have all the results by the end of the week! The sad part to this announcement that I have a pretty obvious loser this time around. And I'm also pretty sure which song will win the round, but because I still feel like the #2 could potentially catch up with it I've decided to to their writeups in the same comment, probably tomorrow. Let's get on with it!

From the description it already sounded really interesting and I think it lived up to my expectations, even though I still find it really hard to rank it among the other tracks cause it's a pretty diverse set of songs. What this reminded me the most of was Rishloo, until it transitioned into that heavy section. Honestly, the first half was my favourite, but that breakdown was awesome too, didn't really expect electronic stuff to be thrown in but it worked really well. It probably ranks around the middle in this round.

Dreams and Bridges by Aereogramme sent by LordCost, ladies and gentlemen.

I'm not gonna lie, I've listened to this band before and it was the last song on my playlist during the first listen and I was going to go into this thinking it would be eliminated for sure cause it was such a consistently good round. I don't remember much of the album but I think I thought it was inconsistent and some songs went on too long. This was one crazy ride though. Super heavy (heaviest of the round but that shouldn't be a surprise to you) with great riffs and a kind of strange twist going on in the end with the horns. Very interesting indeed, gonna revisit this album.

Early dog-bird gets the worm! With maudlin of the Well and They Aren't All Beautiful. I'm not sure if you remember but you actually sent me Heaven and Weak last roulette :lol liked that too but I like this one better.

1. maudlin of the Well - They Aren't All Beautiful
2. Aereogramme - Dreams and Bridges

Yeah good you mentioned it, so everyone's reminded that the next round is instrumentals only! When I say instrumental, I don't mind if there's spoken words or like one word in the whole song, or vocals so heavily adjusted that they sound more like synths (see: Helios Erebus by GIAA). Only have 1/7 songs in for round 6, slackers!
