I'm gonna go with the album I messaged you about do yoneed a link or are you cool?
Nah man I got the full name, it's enough, you're in.
Where to even start, goddamn. Right now it's safe to say the top 2/3 are all ridiculously good, the other two are still great but haven't convinced me quite as much.
So I guess I'll start doing those other three first, in a random order as I haven't gotten to ranking them yet:
First pair of songs are Tool by Elite.
Schism:First there is that super groovy bassline that evolves into the main riff. The vocals have a melancholic touch to them but in the end it is that tribal feel that takes me over, I'm very familiar with Soen and have always been aware that the delivery of the vocals in particular has strong Tool resemblances on earlier songs such as Fraccion and Canvas (some of my favourite Soen songs). Then the song manages to stay interesting without moving into a lot of new ground after the first few minutes, just by being very trippy and playing to its psychedelic heavy progrock strengths. Solid ass tune.
Parabola:This one's a bit heavier and has less of that psychedelic touch that I love so much in my music. But it's being repaid by just being all around groovier and almost a bit grungy in a cool way. Then "ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE" into that little guitar lick has got to be one of the high points of this round. This is clearly a bit more of the aggressive side of Tool, one I would probably get into more easily seeing my listening habbits.
In the end I gotta say, I was switching between favourite song almost every listen, but now I probably give the edge to Parabola because it's a little more over the place and less focused on one particular theme to build the song around. Regardless, both songs kicked ass and if you wondered why the fuck I haven't gotten into Tool yet, you can stop wondering.
yeah, if you skip on giving results
Now I'm even doing writeups and shit boi, this roulette is so prog I'm breaking rules and habits left and right
