Sacul sent Boris to me. This was my writeup:

So, if Lemmy, Joey Ramone, and the dude from Offspring had a lovechild, they would have named him Boris. Is this song even in English??
This song certainly has a lot of energy, but I'm not sure it's really my thing. I think I could actually pick up a couple of guitar nods to Paranoid, which was cool. Has kind of a punk vibe.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

ANYWAYS. sending you the best song of 2017 next. finally

Can I guess your song already? If it's the one I'm thinking of it's 9+ minutes, they are definitely not banned and I've heard you mention love for the song.

I'm 90% sure I know it and was thinking of sending the band myself.

You can still send the same band man, especially if you're not even 100% sure if it's the band you think it is.

Ugh, sorry it took so long, I'm a slacker. I would say that I did this in the spirit of having a showdown between the two people who have the biggest reputation of sending late here, but it was just laziness on my part.

Also this
I don't know what it was, but when I heard the Enshine last year, I loved it. The vocals, surprisingly, did not bother me at all. I thought the music is so cool and mesmerizing, almost like a Pink Floyd with growls. And even though they are growls, somehow they don't manage to be in your face. I love this album.
MESMERIZING, that word is perfect. That's how I would describe it.

Anyway

What both songs have slightly in common here is that they're built on pretty tasty crunchy guitarwork, I dig that. In the case of Elite's song (New Horns by Messa) it does start to get a bit old once you get to the end, the song feels a bit longer than it is due to the little progression that's going on. On the other hand, we have Sacul with Ibitsu by Boris which is dynamic, fast tempo and a garage-rock/punk vibe to it with a lot of energy rather than the slow doom-drenched track on the other side. What is more up my alley if I pick solely based on those distinctions? Probably the high tempo rocker. All things considered though, New Horns scratches my doom itch in a way other bands in the genre are quick to bore me. There's a certain flair to the female singer and she reminds me of someone I can't put my finger on. Ibitsu doesn't waste its time and jumps into action straight away, admittedly great energy, and interesting vocal style. The more improv-sounding punky guitar solo was quite cool, even if the vocals were a tad distracting at times.

After lots of thinking I've made up my mind, gonna have to say goodbye to Sacul and Boris, sorry. A shame since for the first time in this roulette I honestly did like everything that was sent to me.

1. Aenaon - Oneirodynia
2. Mew - The Zookeeper's Boy
3. Enshine - Resurgence
4. Corelia - The Sound of Glaciers Moving
5. Dream the Electric Sleep - Elizabeth
6. Gallows - In the Belly of a Shark
7. Messa - New Horns
7. While Heaven Wept - Vessel

9. Boris - Ibitsu

I got inspired by Parama's beautiful speech in Sacul's roulette so I'm gonna set a hard deadline on the next round (also cause this round took a bit longer I think) of 48 hours, after that I'm starting my listens. I've got 3/8 subs in, haven't checked tomi's PM yet so if that song is fair game it'll be 4/8, good pace! :tup

Send me Signs of the Time by Sons of Apollo and you are instantly eliminated. Any takers?

EDIT: Oh yeah I probably won't do hangmanen this round, just gonna straight up reveal the titles

Now I know what I'm going to get next round :corn Parama and his crazy German fetish

I'm using this day to relisten to all the rounds so far, it's crazy how nostalgic it feels as I only started last month, but it's been great so far and just started with the round 2 playlist. I try to rank all the rounds but of course it doesn't affect any rankings that I may have published earlier, and there's no scores in this roulette so it's just for my personal sake of creating a best of playlist at the end.

I have 5/8 songs and one re-submission supposedly coming in tonight. So that only leaves us with twosuitsluke and home, nice pace so far! :tup

Eyy I relistened to all the rounds and I'm glad I still stand behind most of my rankings but some stuff has changed. I reranked everything in the second post of the thread if anyone's interested. Also removed and added a couple of links to the bands' songs submitted so all the linked songs are my current favourites of the roulette so far. The only ones I couldn't find on the youtubes were Kaddisfly's campfire and Loch Vostok's Yurei so they both have spotify links.

It's one of the best songs on Bilateral, I wish Leprous themselves would realize that :(

Sent clean vocals..well 99% clean. Feel like I'm taking a chance as Dennis seems pretty particular about his clean vocals.
Interesting theory, you being probably the most consistent out of everyone and you also being the person who has sent the highest percentage of harsh vocals there might be some truth to this. But I also think maybe you're being more careful than you should be because I criticized the cleans in the first song you sent (Constantine - Collective Harmony). :lol I still stand behind that but there's tons and tons of clean vocals that I love too.

Wow rip shade empire  :-[
Yeah this one and El Tienda de Drogas took a bit of a drop. With the latter I just started liking other songs more and this one was the same. With Shade Empire it might have been a one off, I ranked everything based on my last listen and today wasn't getting the hype I got earlier when doing results for that round.

Sent that good shit.
Nice :2metal: we are all in! I'll do the song names tomorrow and time lengths and all that sweet stuff. I might hold off my first listen until the evening cause I got an exam until 5 and then some other stuff, wanna be focused before.
