It's been cool to see the prog community gather in support of Voyager today on Facebook. Seen post from Ross Jennings, Daniel Tompkins and Viv Lalu already, not to mention the swath of the fandom that falls in my blast radius.
Also Tesseract in general, VOLA, Leprous, Chaos Divine, Prog Magazine, Metal Hammer, and a few others as well.
Their reaction to only getting 21 points from the online/televote was hilarious. I think the votes that helped them win their Semi-final mostly went to Finland in the Finals. It looks like Voyager got on well with pretty much everyone there, especially Finland, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a Voyager/Kaarija collaboration in the future.
Overall, it was great to see one of "my bands" do so well in this competition. Prog metal placing top 10 in an essentially global competition is pretty kick ass! I hope this leads to a higher profile and more visibility for them, they totally deserve it! Looking forward to the album release in July and hopefully, some US dates later this year, or 2024.
