That whole album slays from start to finish.  The only thing that irks me is Devin Townsend's Natural Science screech-fest.  Red Barchetta is one of the highlights of the album.  It has been a while since I've heard it, so I may have to go dig it out, because I'm having trouble recalling that version of Jacob's Ladder.  JP played on that, right?

I got archives next to own the 1st 3 albums and then I went nuts bying everything.  Great album and top 20 for me.
Rush Archives.. Forgot about that! Kind of like KISS The Originals!

BMG was a much better service than Columbia House.

would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

He did:

Jacob's Ladder (Lee/Lifeson/Peart) – 7:38
Sebastian Bach / lead vocals
John Petrucci / lead guitar
Matt Guillory / keyboards
Mike Portnoy / drums
Billy Sheehan / bass
Brendt Allman / rhythm guitar

Well, at least the discussion is following a Rush album.

I can only hope that Humanary Stew will get as much attention as Working Man in the near future. ;)

That tribute album is pretty good. Jack Russell's version of Analog Kid is really good.

It's good but damn there are some weird intros to the songs.

I was given a copy of it over 15 years ago. I think I played through it once or twice. Because it was a copy, I didn't have the list of musicians to accompany it.  It is one of those albums that I have just never been able to pull the trigger on. Isn't Fates Warning on there as well? I think it's Closer To The Heart. I was hoping they would play something a little more interesting. And frankly, I would be way more inclined to get it if Dream Theater performed together. I really don't care to hear Jack Russell or Sebastian Bach, or anyone else for that matter.

Thank you for that. Oh yeah, I am aware of who was on it. I actually think I wrote it all down on a piece of paper at the time. It IS on "The List". Of course it's been on "The List" for over 15 years. I just haven't been able to bring myself to part with any money for it.

13.Black Sabbath- Heaven And Hell (1980)

I got this on 8 track when I was very young. Junior High. I loved it. I wasn't up on my Sabbath history. Knew they had another singer. Didn't know Dio was in another band. Somehow I innocently discovered Heaven And Hell. Don't even know how. But I have been in love with this album since the day I heard it. The title track is a TAC Top 10 song ever! This album just sits in the pocket and never lets up. Dio sounds fantastic on this (though I feel he peaked vocally on Mob Rules). The band sounds so inspired on this. They seemed kind of directionless on their previous two albums, thouh I am a big fan of Never Say Die.
Juat a great album that has stood the test of time. A classic. I don't know what else to say.

Fave tracks: Heaven And Hell, Die Young, Children Of The Sea.

Great, great album. BS' best for me. just a couple of lesser tracks to stop it being a classic. If you combined the best of this and Mob Rules though- that would be an awesome album.
As it is it's 2/3rds awesome.
Die Young is a personal fave.

Love the album, but was a fan before Dio joined, this seemed to bring a breathe of fresh air to the band, Iommi's playing is top notch as is the rest of the band.

Die Young still pulls be in every time I hear it....absolutely Love this song

12. UFO- The Wild The Willing And The Innocent (1981)

This is my favorite of the Paul Chapman era albums, and obviously, by being here, one of my favorite albums of all time. Quick history lesson: after Michael Schenker left UFO in 1978, Paul Chapman took over and from 1980 to 1983, they would release 4 more albums before deteriorating in a drugs and alcohol induced mess. This would be the second of the four albums, and the creative and playing peak of the band post Schenker. The songs are great and well written. Phil Mogg sounds incrediblly lush and full on this. Great lyrics take you into the lives of different characters all brought to life by the enigmatic Mogg. Everyone needs to shut the lights off and quietly listen to Profession Of Violence. Paul Chapman at his best. He really shines on this album.

Fave tracks: Long Gone, Profession Of Violence, The Wild The Willing And The Innocent, Lonely Heart

Another awesome album. This is a great list.
Lonely Heart was the first single I ever bought, along with I Surrender by Rainbow. This is an overlooked album when compared with the Schenker era but it's a good one.
Agree with the songs you listed too. Long Gone is a classic.

Paul Chapman is such and under rated talent his style blended perfectly with the band. Got into UFO around the time of Obsession worked my way backwards through the catologue than followed them up through Making Contact

of the Chapman Era I prefered No Place to Run but can't say anything bad about this selection either.

Chapman is very good on WWI. His work on It's Killing Me is incredible. A real simple yet perfect solo and great subtle fills throughout.

I am not crazy about No Place To Run. I actually would take Mechanix over it. I do love Anyday. Phil Mogg slays on that.

1981 was such a great year for music. Easily my favorite. In fact there are two more albums from 1981 to appear on my list in the Top 10.

11. Dio- Holy Diver (1983)

I can still remember hearing Stand Up And Shout and Straight Through The Heart on the local metal show when Holy Diver was released. I could not believe my ears. I bought this ASAP and thought I had heard the greatest album ever. The singer from Sabbath with a newer harder rocking band.  This album has stood the test of time and never disappoints. Vivian Campbells proves to be Ronnie's Randy Rhoads, as Dio was really never the same after Vivian left. Don't Talk To Strangers still gives me goosebumps today. Icredible music and writing, as close to perfect as a hard rock album could get.

Fave tracks:Don't Talk To Strangers, Holy Diver, Shame On The Night, Stand Up And Shout
