The first 6 on that last list I obviously know. Shy also sounds familiar. The others are new to me.

Let's be fair here, every single album posted in this thread is pretty standard and generic to some degree. :P

But it's good energetic hard rock, which is actually kinda rare these days imo. It's a welcome break from the endless wimpy production line Frontiers melodic rock, and the generic repetitive double kicker detuned power metal.

Did listen to the Rated X?

Yeah, I listened to it once. The playing was annoyingly sloppy as shit, and the songs were bland. JLT was about the only positive, and that wasn't enough to save it.

That's fair enough.

I'm 3 songs into the Voodoo Circle, not bad, hopefully it picks up a little more.  First track is a cracker.

Tracks 2 & 4 RAWK. The third track is a really awesome song, but it's a slow burner so it seems kinda boring at first. The whole album is damn solid though.

Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

After one listen, it's quite varied but needs a few listens.  Might fav actually might be what seems to be a hidden track at the end, but before the Ain't No Sunshine hidden cover.

The production is top notch and the performances are good.  Could use more heavier numbers like the first one but it's actually quite fresh and interesting and hopefully it grows.

I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. :lol It looks like there's a bonus track some versions might come with? My version has 11 tracks, and the 11th track is the only dud of the album for me.

I thought the less heavy sound might be a factor for you, although they pull off the classic hard rock sound so perfectly on this one.

Mine has 11 tracks too but track 11 goes for 12:50, seems like it has 3 songs.

Mine is 4:32, so you must have a fancy version with a nugget at the end. I'm nuggetless.

Yeah, it must be the digi bonus track Coming Home to You.  Get a hold of it Blob.

I have the standard jewel case and weird that both bonus tracks are hidden.  Might be an error or something.

@ Kade... the disappointment is strong for you not mentioning the following:

Axel Rudi Pell
Silent Force
Powerworld
That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad
I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".

I'd consider ARP and SF more hard rock than melodic rock, but I guess in terms of the last Silent Force, that more than qualifies.

I know you've pimped Powerworld to me before, but you can save them for my roulette if you like.  :tup

The Defiants project with Laine, Marcello and Ravel out on April 15.  Could be interesting, considering there's been no follow up to the last Danger Danger, this could be the closest we get.

Just had a listen to a track from the new Treat (Inferno) - sounds very commercial/pop.   Hopefully it's the We Own The Night of the new album -it's nowhere near as good as that song but the good thing is that the sound is great.   Still looking forward to it - just hoping that this track isn't representative of the rest of the album.

Can be heard on Spotify if anyone's interested.

Had a listen, and I don't mind it, it's a decent melodic pop type songs, but yeah, hopefully it's not a proper representation of the album.

I've never heard of this band but that song was waayyy too poppy sounding.  Is this their usual sound because that would never be my cup of tea

Nah JJ .   They've never been the most consistent band but they're certainly hard rock and their last album was probably their best.

Here's a couple of better tracks for you..............20 years apart:

The War Is Over (2010)  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0rY1NqjcXI

Conspiracy (1989) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4NXZyUlrmw

Back in the day I loved Conspiracy - mostly thanks to the riff and solo .

Yeah, I never delved that much into their earlier stuff.  The last album is brilliant.  I have a best of, but even that's pretty spotty IMO.

As Brent said, they were very hit and miss and never really nailed it for a full album. The last one was all kinds of awesome though.

New Sunstorm!

https://www.blabbermouth.net/news/joe-lynn-turner-goes-harder-stronger-and-heavier-on-new-sunstorm-album-edge-of-tomorrow/

With Simone from DGM and the last Epysode on guitar!!!  And the new Primal Fear drummer.

Fuck, Uwe was always the guitar sound for Sunstorm with Dennis Wards influence, but I guess Allessandro hasn't done anything for about six weeks, so he was due.

Looking forward to this one, I really liked the last one.
