Guess I should check it out.  I remember thinking the first was a good listen, but nothing wow-worthy.

Second album is much like the first one, so I expect your opinion will be similar.

I don't think it will do much for you to be honest Chad.

I'm not saying don't have a listen though, but I don't think it will knock your socks off.

What's better?  Knocking Chad's socks off or floating his boat?

I had no expectations for this new Harem Scarem DVD but it's actually really fucking enjoyable.  Amazing performances and a pretty good set too.

:caffeine:

Might have to pick it up now.  I was gonna pass, as I don't have a lot of disposable time to just watch concerts nowadays.

I remember you saying you were gonna to be all over it.  I got it just because but the cd's are a good listen too and the concert even though initially it looked like the band lacked a certain energy, they are great to watch and perform the songs brilliantly.  This is one that will get a lot of watches from me.

The vocals were too rough for me. They'd work for something bluesier, but they bugged me here. The song wasn't bad underneath that, but nothing special.
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.

I wouldn't want to hear him go for that chorus live  :lol

Didn't like that at all.

He did sing on a decent Rainbow album, a decent MSG album and that excellent first Alcatrazz album. And night games was a good pop song, so he gets points for that.

A new song from Resurrection Kings. Another solid rocker. Quite looking forward to this one based on what they've released so far.

I don't think it was that impressive to be honest.  Pretty standard and generic.  The solo ripped though.

Let's be fair here, every single album posted in this thread is pretty standard and generic to some degree. :P

But it's good energetic hard rock, which is actually kinda rare these days imo. It's a welcome break from the endless wimpy production line Frontiers melodic rock, and the generic repetitive double kicker detuned power metal.

Nice song. Yes, generic but hits me in the spot better than those squeaky clean Find Me type bands.
I'll probably get this.

Bodes well for the We Can't a Call It Guiffria album Goldy and Eisley are doing.

Yeah, I listened to it once. The playing was annoyingly sloppy as shit, and the songs were bland. JLT was about the only positive, and that wasn't enough to save it.

I'm 3 songs into the Voodoo Circle, not bad, hopefully it picks up a little more.  First track is a cracker.

My friend worked at a local record store. Every Sunday I'd spend the day there. He'd play a shitload of CDs and most of them were AOR/Melodic rock as that was his favorite genre. Some were really good; some were monotonous. It'll be nice to rediscover some of them. That's why I asked for some recommendations. I knew some of them would be the older bands I used to enjoy listening to. Plus there are a few there I never heard of but that's good. Thanks, again.

A few more.  I suppose some of this borders on/is hard rock.  And you may only get about an albums worth of good stuff from some of them (if that).  Your mileage may vary.

Magnum
Giant
Pretty Maids
Alias
Boulevard
Strangeways
Mark Free/Signal/Unruly Child/King Kobra
Dare
Tyketto
Survivor
Danger Danger
Sunstorm
Winger would be better!

. . . and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.

Well Tyketto I love. I've seen them live about a dozen times. My best friend was a huge fan of theirs so we would see them constantly. They're really cool guys, too. Especially Jaime(?) the bassist that replaced Michael Clayton (?). I'm hoping I got the names right. Giant's Last of the Runaways was one of my favorite albums for a long time. Danger Danger's Screw It is awesome. A couple of those bands I've never heard but that's fine. It'll give me something new to check out.
