Well, I don't really get the hate for it.
Mostly because apart from a very few factors, like Aviv writing most of the stuff, this still sounds as much Blackfield as the first two albums did.
Song-wise the songs are just as strong as on the other two albums, sure people might say that this album has no classic in the sense of songs like "Hello" or "Once" on the first two, but the songs on WTMDNA are so good that it isn't needed.
I don't even care that much that SW didn't write much for the new album, because looking back at the other two albums, Aviv has always been the 'main'-writer for this project.
Surely SW has polished stuff and added his input, but that's another thing.
'Waving' is a fantastic song, but it's also something that feels really typical SW, Aviv on the other hand has delivered songs that I wouldn't have expected him to write, because a lot of the songs doesn't feel 'typical' Aviv-songs.
So yeah, in other words I really dig this album.
