Well for a start you seem to think this album is vastly different to the first two in some way, which most of us really can't see at all, it's incredibly similar. So from that point of view, perhaps listening more is appropriate. But Quad may have meant that listening more will make you suddenly like it more, which would obviously be ridiculous.
And regarding the descriptive introduction, of course I can completely see the point of it, Blackfield are hardly a well-known band. For sure you pass a positive judgement in relation to their first two albums, it just seems strange to me to start by question the band's purpose in the first place. Surely just an introduction to who they are would be less controversial? Or am I missing the point on that one?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not attacking your review; like I said I just find the approach a little odd, and it makes the review fairly inaccessible IMO.
