My three favourites are Blood, Oxygen and DNA.

I felt a bit ashamed when a friend came in while I was listening to Go To Hell. Those lyrics are so bad...

Spinned this album two times, and I must say that it's pretty darn fantastic.
All songs are amazing (or better), and picking out early favorites seems like an impossible task, because they're all very good.
Lyrics in 'Go To Hell' are quite bad, but I don't really care much for lyrics, and the music in the song pretty much makes up for it.
If it weren't for the great music behind the lyrics, I would've complained more.
Love it how many new elements this album has, and how fresh it sounds, while still sounding very Blackfield.

Fantastic album overall.

OMG Blood is one of the best songs I've heard in a while can't get enough of it and whole album is amazing it may end up being my favorite Blackfield album. It's too early to rate it yet but it definetely has a chance. And Go To Hell is awesome BTW. Only musically of course but that's what matters.

It wasn't much of a preorder if the album is already out. :neverusethis:

Gonna have to say I agree. This is their best release.

This album is much less hit or miss for me than the other two. It's pretty much all hit. Go To Hell may be growing on me.

Go To Hell is so lulzy, but at the same time I really like it. Usually that stuff completely turns me away from a song, but this seems to be the one case where it actually makes the song more enjoyable for some reason.  :lol

Man this album is hands down my favorite of 2011 this far.
Seriously, all the songs on this album are amazing or better, and I feel so sad that Blackfield aren't visiting Sweden on their tour, because I would love to hear this live.
Picking out favorites is really hard, but at the moment I'd say Far Away and Waving, but overall I can't skip tracks or listen to them separately, because I really want to hear all of it.  :)

idk, something about the song rubs me the wrong way. Its almost too.... generic? sounding to me. Maybe/hopefully it'll grow on me though.

The lyrics are lame too... not more lame than Go To Hell, but yeah.

This is really bothering me.. the ending of Rising of the Tide, it's so familiar but I can't place it!
A friend of mine said that it's a pretty common pattern that artists use, and I'm so certain that I've heard it before, but can't place it. :/

Song-rankings would be impossible for me to do, but I'll add DNA and Oxygen to the ones I already mentioned as my favorites.
Superb album.  :hat

Mostly positive here, but this forum is comprised of Wilson fanboys :lol (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Elsewhere, reviews consider it... fairly average, and I agree with them. It sounds pretty mediocre and uninspired to me. :-\ Has some good cuts (like Waving and Blood) but it's nothing too special, in my opinion. I'll keep trying, though.

While that's true, this is really more Aviv than Wilson. And honestly, I'm not a very big Aviv Geffen fan, but I really love this album.

It's very airy, and even more depressing than the previous albums. There are a couple tracks that are just OK, but all in all I really like it.

Oh, checking again... every song except Waving was written by Aviv. Hm. :lol

Yea, "Waving" was the only Wilson composition on this album. Aviv has definitely written some of his best stuff here though. His song writing capabilities have really grown since the last album.

Except that Aviv wrote a bunch of the best songs on the previous two albums too.

Aviv has always been a very good songwriter, and as I've said earlier, I do think that some of his songs on the earlier albums are amongst the best that Blackfield has made.
With that said, I do have to agree that he has really grown and taken another step up on the ladder with this album, personally I think it features some of his best work yet. (not talking about the Go To Hell lyrics)  ;D

I don't think that it's the most depressing, Blackfield II does it for me. My Gift of Silence is just heartbreaking.
