Should the max number of artists in the EP round be increased from 4 to 5?

I don't get the hype behind LODDOD. It's.. definitely a thing but holy fuck does it overstay its welcome. Crimson by Edge of Sanity is way better imo and 20 minutes shorter  :lol
crimson has such awful production i can barely listen to it

Crimson in my top 50 also.

I haven't listened to Light of Day, Day of Darkness in ages, but I used to dig it a lot, so it might be worth revisiting soon.

Dopesmoker I've listened to a few times and I don't get the hype for it.
I think it's best appreciated under very hot weather while you're doing mostly mind numbing stuff like cleaning. Or being high as fuck. It just sort of needs a loose focus to be appreciated imo, gets kind of boring when you're paying attention for a while.

I love long songs, Winter's Gate another fav, but Dopesmoker is a hard one to get into.  I don't listen to it all that much but it's a fun ride once in a while.

LODDOD is in my top 50 albums of all time.  Quite simply one of the most amazing pieces of art I've ever heard.

Okay, maybe I should try it out sometime again

Yeah, I actually have it on CD, but only listened to it once. There's something daunting about turning on a piece of music that takes an hour - which is kind of bullshit, since I do listen to albums in full as well.

Understandable, after all you're the guy who doesn't like concept prog metal albums

I like a COUPLE but yeah they're almost always pretentious trash  :lol at least power metal is up front about it all being dumb magic shit

I mean you're not wrong there but I'd strongly disagree that 'everything like, sounds good' with The Apologist  :rollin

I don't speak for TAC, King or the others in our age bracket, but you're turning into an old man right in front of our eyes, and frankly, it brings a tear to my eye.  I couldn't be prouder, or more welcoming into the club.  :) :)

Ah yes, good point. I'll do that once I'm feeling reasonably confident about scores. Depending on how much listening I manage to do over the rest of this week, my tentative plan is to reveal all impressions later today, comparisons tomorrow and then results Friday.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'll remember the first discount as long as I live.  Dunkin Donuts, Raffia Road, Enfield. I bought a coffee, a donut, and a couple muffins for my stepson's breakfast, and the kid - not eligible to vote yet, I'm certain of that - rang it up and handed me the receipt with a slightly proud, slightly "look ma, I done good!" grin on his face, like he did me a favor.   And there it was, in that faded gray typeface:  "Snr. Discount".  There's no going back.
