Oh crap, I forgot this was released yesterday. I love their first three. The last one was so-so.

But damn… the whole album ain’t on Spotify yet?!

Wait... the album is just one 35 minute song + 6 individual tracks of the "parts" of that same song, and they're selling that for $20 on iTunes?  What the ... ??

Season of Mist put the full Horrendous album up on youtube already.  It is really good, and I will go ahead and put it up there with Gorod for my favorite death metal album of the year.

Oblivion Protocol - The Fall of the Shires

Would be better with Glynn on the mic, but two songs in and it's pretty good.

Musically, it's very good.  But Richard is not a terribly appealing vocalist for me.  I doubt I'll be coming back to this one.  Plus, it's pretty short - 41 minutes.

A song of their's came up on my Spotify Release Radar playlist a while back.  I enjoy'd.

Spinning the whole album right now.

Yea they’ve got that classic metal sound for the most part. I hear a lot of solo Ozzy stuff in there.

Will be checking out a bunch of the albums posted here, plus this one:

Godthrymm - Distortions

Has former members of My Dying Bride...I very much enjoyed their Peaceville three-style doom/gothic debut in 2020 (Reflections) and I'm very curious to hear this one.

Tomorrow has some good stuff

The Cat Empire - Where the Angels Fall
Blut aus Nord - Disharmonium Nahab
Our Broken Garden - Blind
Exmortus - Necrophony

I'm also going to give the new Alice Cooper album a spin, but I'm not expecting much from it. Honestly, I only really know the hits from Alice Cooper and need to do a deep dive on his discography at some point.

If you ever do that, I'd happily help you out. I've considered doing a Discography thread, but he has a lot of albums.

The new album, after three prereleased songs, sounds very similar to his last two albums. They're all produced by Bob Ezrin. Musically, there's not a lot to offer. They're pretty much basic rock n roll songs. He's an extremely talented lyricist and vocalist. I said vocalist, not singer. He has a great sneering style, adaptable to many geographical accents and voice characterizations. That's where I really get my enjoyment from his most recent albums. I mean, there are a bunch of great songs, but his style of music would be considered quite basic for these parts.

I'm interested to hear it after quite a big line up change last year, wondering if it also means a shift in their sound.

You should probably more strongly consider it.  I'd certainly follow along.  I still look forward to whenever you compile that playlist.

I have an 18 song 70's playlist made. He has a number of eras, and I feel like they need to be presented as such. Along with a bit of a narrative. Let's get through your roulette first.
