I'm going to try to post tidbits tomorrow and results on Saturday; otherwise, results won't come until Tuesday. Sunday and Monday I'll be pretty much away from my computer due to US Independence Day festivities; on Sunday I'm singing/conducting the choir for that town's celebrations, and then we will be going to my mother-in-law's town for the actual July 4th celebration. I may be able to do it on Monday morning before we leave, but I can't promise anything. It will for sure be completed by Tuesday though and that tidbits will at least be posted by Saturday.

Can i already send for the next round (and maybe the Epic round as well, in case I should make it)? Like I said in mikemangjoys roulette, I'm quite unikely to have time to send anything starting Wednesday and 10 days from then on. If you're only going to post results late on Tuesday, I won't have time to send anymore.

I haven't started writeups yet, but songs are being scored. I want at least one more listen through, possibly two (with 8 songs that aren't extremely long that's doable, especially since I didn't do any listeneings over the holiday weekend).

That said, all bonuses are now used, so I will add the additional bonuses after NEXT round before eliminations. I have to check but I don't think anyone who garnered an additional bonus has been eliminated, because you're here since you got higher scores anyway. However, these bonuses may provide a boost or cushion going into the penultimate round.

I am unsure how I am going to run the EP portion of the roulette though. I've never been a part of one (unless you count jjrock's bonus round). How do you guys usually run those? Do you have a theme? Do you require like a ballad? A time limit? My thinking was let's say one person has a 5 song EP and one person has a 6 song EP, I rate the songs out of 10 or 20 (not sure yet), and then add up scores and divide by the number of songs so I get the average. Is that what people usually do?

I'm not in this roulette anymore but I've been in one final EP round as a participant and hosted one. Both, including pretty much every EP round I've followed, take the average of all the song scores and turn it into one average song-score (I personally prefer to rate it out of 20)

The only thing I hold against this method is how a perfect 1 minute intro or segue track can be neglected because the song itself is not amazing. I will probably balance it out a bit more with my upcoming EP round so that you can gain more points for the EP-flow in comparison to the song score-average.

You could throw some curveballs like themes for the EP but I wouldn't limit the players too much because it can be hard enough already to make an EP of songs that really fit well tog together out of the music you have. I like to set a minimum amount of artists requirement, or a maximum amount of minutes of music per artist so that the EP is not just one big 'best hits' of one band + 1 or 2 other songs, making it a bit more diverse. But it's your roulette, you can add whatever rule you want. :tup

I suggest the players have to send only ballads in their EPs.

But seriously man, haven't you got enough ballads already? :lol

I'm pretty sure the weighting is why seneca ended up winning too, his longest song got a perfect score while the other two both had a long song dragging the average down a decent bit  :corn
