I know this round was tough for most of you, but all of you pulled through; no one sent anything I really disliked, so many of you are getting higher scores. This is where the extra bonuses will really come into play.
Evermind: Judas Priest - Dreamer, Deceiver 8.5/10
Another ballad. Shocking. Anyways, you were right in that this wasn’t anything that I’ve heard by Priest before. I’ve never been a huge fan of Priest at all, but this sounds nothing like their 80s sound. I was really impressed by the vocals; the quality is a mix between the singer for the Scorpions, Ozzy, and Robert Plant. I hadn’t really heard that from their 80s music. I also liked the guitar solo at the end. While this was a strong song, it was unfortunately one of the weaker ones from a very strong round.
TAC: Lucifer’s Friend - Everybody’s Clown 9/10
This was released in 1970?!? Man they were doing a lot of this type of groove rock stuff. This has everything. I really like this. There isn’t a clear reason why… it reminds me of a LOT of bands I really like, and I wonder how much this sound had a hand in influencing it. Even though it’s a little repetitive, it never gets old for some reason, probably because the groove is just so.. Groovy.
King: Joe Jackson - Is She Really Going Out With Him 9/10
I honestly maybe heard this song before but never registered that this was this song and it was by Joe Jackson; I did the same thing with Stepping Out which I LOVE. This falls in that same category; I like that song better, but I can see where you got the same sound as the Cars from. It has that same New Wave/Post Punk sound that I dig.
Lonestar: The Kinks - Days 9/10
This was the kind of song I was hoping to get in this round, a late 60s psychadelic/folky/vocal group that had elements of early prog but weren’t quite there yet, like 60s Floyd and Jimi Hendrix. I liked this a lot, it was short but sweet. And that mellotron was awesome.
Tyrias: Kraftwork - Metropolis 9/10
I know some Kraftwerk, but not this track. This encompasses a lot of what I like about late 70s synthpop, especially that groovy drum track. It reminds me of “I Feel Love” by Donna Summer, which is one of my favorite songs of that era. I know Kraftwerk came first, but I think Giorgio Moroder made that sound more mainstream… both are amazing. Anyways, really dug it.
Bolsters: Meat Loaf - For Crying Out Loud 9/10 + 1 = 10/10 (bonus for strings)
This song grew on me, initially I was unimpressed, but the more I listened to Meat’s singing and the instrumentation in the 2nd half, the more I really liked it. Everything just clicks here. It’s not better than I Would Do Anything For Love in my opinion, but it’s a classic Meat Loaf/Steinman ballad
Sacul: Crucis - Recluso Artista 9.5/10
Man how do I not know this band? This band is great. There are elements of Genesis, Gentle Giant, and other classic 70s prog bands in here. This is a great instrumental and it makes me want to gig again. The main theme repeats numerous times, but it builds up and sounds slightly different every time, and then the fast section is just awesome. I LOVE that organ by the way.
Big Hath: King Crimson - One More Red Nightmare 9.5/10
I’m ashamed I don’t know more Crimson, but this track just emphasizes the fact that I need to get more into them, and the fact that they aren’t on spotify or youtube makes me think I may need to spend some money on at least a greatest hits collection. This was SOLID all the way through. It changes so much throughout the piece and encompases unique instrumentation, time signatures, and elements of jazz, rock, and prog. What a great song.

Everyone is still in it but next is the final round before the next elimination. Next round is open, but Round 10 is an epic round, so I would suggest you not send epics this round.
Tyrias already submitted because he’ll be on vaycay, but everyone else can submit now.
