managed to get the new profile early. and i have to say... very nice. although some of the features (such as the map) seem a bit excessive. here's a picture:

.... isn't that almost the same layout that Myspace had?

Haha it does look the same as Myspace. Never had the chance to view the actual changes.

I love the timeline profiles on FB. I feel like the news feed needs a major overhaul now.

I think that news feed should be for posts only. Everything else (people making friends, people commenting, people listening to music) should be in the Ticker.

I find that I usually hate the new changes initially. After a few days of getting used to the new stuff, I can't imagine going back to the old ways

That's a great idea. I don't care if my friend is friends with 22 other people.

Also, why the fuck is everyone posting such shit today. So many reposts, rants and other dung

If you hover over someone's name a box pops up, and it there's a 'Subscribe' button that you can pick to not see some types of updates from them. It's a good feature.

Not really pathetic, a little bit funny:

I vaguely remember having a dream last night that involved something along the lines of Cthulhu giving me career advice. I'm never eating Skittles before bed again. ><

I was sitting a traffic light blaring Space Dye Vest and next to me in another car was Kevin Moore. And I'll never be open again.

Based on Chinese Feng Shui. The one who does not copy, will be without money. Copy within 11 mins of reading. Can't hurt so I did

So...
You know how on your profile you can write your favorite Quotes? Well "Quote" In spanish is "Cita" and that has 2 meanings, "Quote" and... "Date", so you can guess what happens now.

"With mah boyfriend"
"On the Beach"
"With that special someone hurr durr"

Goddamn some people are really stupid.

Not really related, but reading this I suddenly remembered a dream I had the other night. I was in a pub which was inside a train, and someone tried to pick a fight with me, but we finally decided to settle it by doing a race to see who could eat a gigantic dish of beans and fries the fastest. Dreams rule.

you know what pisses me off, when people copy and paste those stories about how 'bob' died from cancer. I'm all for raising awareness for it, completely for that - but posting this on facebook isn't really going to get you anywhere. You'd be much better off donating some money to a charity than simply just copy and pasting it.

But... who won?

I was winning but halfway through it I told the other guy "We're having a bean eating contest in a pub in a train... isn't it fucking stupid?" and that was like a cue for my brain and I woke up (3 minutes before the alarm went off, which pissed me off to no limit).

I think Malcolm Gladwell wrote a whole article about that. Pretty much it does nothing. How does one 'raise awareness of cancer'? Like there are people walking around that aren't aware of it? If everyone who has had a family member affected by it posted that message, then everyone would post it. What does that get us?

Of course, if you post that as a comment on one of those messages you would probably be murdered for insulting cancer patients or some shit.

I've often wondered what exactly the point is of "raising awareness" of something.  Cancer, child abuse, birth defects, whatever.  Put a magnetic ribbon thing on your car, or post about it in your Facebook status to "raise awareness".

The best I can figure is that "raising awareness" means increasing the chances that everybody knows somebody, or knows somebody else, who is affected by it.  Maybe you'd heard about the parent or friend of someone you knew from school, or some other close but not quite direct connection.  But after raising awareness, you realize that there are actually three or four people affected by it, maybe more; it's a little more common than you thought, it affects more people than you realized, including more people you actually know.

Then, the next time someone is doing one of those walks, or collecting donations, or something related to that cause, they're more likely to get some money from you because it is now a somewhat bigger deal to you than it was before, because more people are affected by it than you thought before.  Before your awareness was raised.

Something like that.

This woman has to be pushing over 300 pounds, is drunk 7 days a week, and has children that she raised like shit who now walk all over her... As well as a husband that has been cheating on her for at least three years....

October 5, 2011
A while back, at the entrance of a gym, there was a picture of a very thin and beautiful woman. The caption was "This summer, do you want to be a mermaid or a whale?"

The story goes, a woman (of clothing size unknown) answered the following way:

"Dear people, whales are always surrounded by friends (dolphins, seals, curious humans), they are sexually active and raise their children with great tenderness.
They entertain like crazy with dolphins and eat lots of prawns. They swim all day and travel to fantastic places like Patagonia, the Barents Sea or the coral reefs of Polynesia.
They sing incredibly well and sometimes even are on cds. They are impressive and dearly loved animals, which everyone defend and admires.

Mermaids do not exist.

But if they existed, they would line up to see a psychologist because of a problem of split personality: woman or fish?
They would have no sex life and could not bear children.
Yes, they would be lovely, but lonely and sad.
And, who wants a girl that smells like fish by his side?

Without a doubt, I'd rather be a whale.

At a time when the media tells us that only thin is beautiful, I prefer to eat ice cream with my kids, to have dinner with my husband, to eat and drink and have fun with my friends.

We women, we gain weight because we accumulate so much wisdom and knowledge that there isn't enough space in our heads, and it spreads all over our bodies.
We are not fat, we are greatly cultivated.
Every time I see my curves in the mirror, I tell myself: "How amazing am I ?! "
