It's like reverse groupie-ism where you don't get to sleep with the band/act, but you get their fans instead. And I am ok with that.

IT WILL BE GLORIOUS and then we can go get victory smoothies afterwards to celebrate our manhood and stuff + slumber party + adventures + adventure time + ok

Oh and I still need to check out all of her albums, I'm just so transfixed on how amazing Opheliac is.

Plus staying up past 9 AM and drinking Virgin Mary's when the adults aren't looking. Hehehehehehe.
To be honest, I think seeing a show of her's might be a bit too much. I mean, I dig the music, but her regular fanbase can't be the most pleasent to deal with in a standing room only, cramped setting.
To be honest, I'm used to all kinds of weird fanbases. Most of the music I listen to is gloomy and depressing (Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, The Cure, and so on), so none of it really surprises me anymore  :lol

Lee, if I didn't love you in the most platonic way possible, I'd be furious.

Furious.

'Furious' is the only emotional state I can handle women in, so... It'd be like college all over for me.
I can pretend to be furious if you're feeling nostalgic. Just give me a wig, and I'm good to go.

Best part is, as a 19-year-old NIN fan your hair is probably already dyed black, so we may not even need a wig.

It's not dyed black, but it's a pretty unique hairstyle. Just ask anyone on the board.

True dat. You look like Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Smith and Matt Stone all had a freaky-deaky threeway and made a baby out of all of them, Yeerk-style.

I take that as a compliment. I love Robert Smith. I always picture you as Trent in the Self-Destruct tour days.

Oh yeah, I figured this was worth posting. She posted it on twitter.

It's literally her on her roof singing the lyrics to the last song on FLAG into her phone. It's obviously not the finished product, but.... yeah.

https://www.emilieautumn.com/Secret_FLAG_Phone_Recording.m4a

Right now she's currently working with Darren Lynn Bousman and Terrance Zdunich on something (probably some kinda music video, either for an Opheliac song or a song from FLAG) in LA. I'm going to assume everyone on here is a nerdy pseudo-goth like me and knows who those 2 people are and has been following their projects since the beginning like I have.

I'm looking forward to this if it is like Opheliac. I haven't really listened to her first album.

I think she said it's sort of in the same vein as Opheliac, but it's also much heavier and more violent and "metal" (I don't think she meant actual metal, though). It sort of fits into the concept of what she defines as fighting like a girl, which is without mercy, code, or honor--just fighting to survive.

Enchant is significantly different than Opheliac, but it's still a fantastic album. She also has a lot of b-sides that show her trying out styles she didn't really explore with either album.

It was awesome. Great blend of a lot of shit without too much of it.

Great mix of classical, pop, industrial, metal, chickiness, etc.

Any more tilted to one side and it would suck, but the great thing is, it is at the perfect balance.

That's my view on it, too.

Enchant took me a couple of listens to appreciate because I was so accustomed to Opheliac's sound, but it's a great album all on its own. It incorporates ballads, acoustic, jazz, trip-hop, chamber music, new-age, space pop, and some sparse electronics. The piano is also incorporated a lot more.

I think Opheliac is neat, but she's a tad repetitive with some lines, which I don't really like. And there are a few spots here and there I don't quite enjoy throughout the album...

but overall it's pretty good.
I don't think I ever mentioned earlier on what I though of the album, so there ya go.

I love this gif.

"What if" is an awesome song, I think its my favourite by her. The piano is great, as is the violin, and her voice sounds very nice.

I love What If too!  Maybe this is just me, but the song always struck me as being almost a homage to "Silent All these Years" by Tori Amos.  Perhaps it's just the line "what if I'm a..." but they kind of have a similar melody and tone and deal with similar lyrical content, I think.  Both beautiful songs!

I think so, too, for those same reasons. It seems safe to say the influence is there, but both songs stand on their own as fantastic  :tup

I took a listen to that Tori Amos song. Obviously hard to say anything on first listen but I thought it was very good. I can see a slight similarity there.

Awesome. They'll be on Youtube in no time in some fashion :dangerwillrobinson:

I'd like to think that the album will be completed by the time those tour dates roll around.

Also, my copy of her book arrived. WOOOOOO.
