Oh yeah Mike, I wasn't trying to paint a picture of you as an insensitive dick or anything. I was just throwing out my own opinion.
I know, didn't think you were, just thought I should clarify that anyways in case.
The second disc of Opheliac is demos and stuff, correct? Is the quality pretty consistent with the main album, or is there a bit of a drop?
Eh, sort of. The Deluxe edition contains several new tracks - Dominant, 306, Asleep (live version of this appears on Girls Just Wanna Have Fun & Bohemian Rhapsody), an acoustic version of Mad Girl (live version is on the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun & Bohemian Rhapsody album, and the original is on the Liar/Dead is the New Alive EP), Thank God I'm Pretty, Gloomy Sunday, Miss Lucy Had Some Leeches, and Marry Me. All are really good,
especially TGIP and Marry Me. There is also an excerpt from her spoken-word poetry album, which is How to Break a Heart. Then there's a recording of her reciting an excerpt from her book, as well as a pretty funny interview with herself that she made.
She does a cover of Bach's Largo, which also shows up on Laced/Unlaced.
It also has some takes on other songs, such as a shoegaze version of Thank God I'm Pretty and an acoustic version of The Art of Suicide.
The original release of Opheliac contains some of this, but not at all. The tracks found on the original release and not the deluxe edition can just be found on her other releases, so buy the deluxe edition.
It might not mean much coming from me, but I think it's all fantastic
Hope this helps.
