Oh GAWD what a show. I can't get DNA out of my head.

Well, judging by last night's performance, music is obviously his outlet. It's in his blood. He was 100% into it

This exactly. He was arguably even more into it than I've seen in the past. I was mesmerized.

If anyone who is not my FB friend wants to see a few pics I can post :)

Please do!

You want what I had. Jordan Rudess on the last tour and Anathema this tour. :D

It's OK I got to see JR do a solo show.

Rather see great bands separately then in one night, seeing as it means shorter sets. ;)

I saw Opeth, Pain of Salvation, Demians and Textures in one afternoon. With PoS and Opeth playing full sets.

Well, I can remember a couple. Most of them were pretty "Jordanized" versions of songs (I don't mean that as some kind of insult).

Hollow Years
Moonchild, off his iPad (King Crimson cover) This was so cool!
Hey You (Pink Floyd cover) This was mostly tons of notes with the the only recognizable part of the song being the chorus. This Jordanized version I wasn't really into.
Even Less (PT cover WITH STEVEN FUCKING WILSON ON GUITAR)
Probably some of his solo stuff I didn't recognize since I haven't heard any of it.
An excerpt from Explorations. This was so cool! I wish I could have seen the whole thing.

That's all I can remember. It was a great performance.  :tup

Cole: "Ow I just got hit in the balls"
Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?
I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

Sounds similar to the solo show he did in NYC back in January.

Must have been amazing to see SW on the Even Less cover.  :tup

These are quite beautiful:

Explorations (short excerpt) + iPad playing + Even Less (with Steven Wilson) in Seattle https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcR8lFC_2dA

Moonchild in Portland https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8m-Kt7Zga0

Better audio but worse video of Even Less https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDoGB4oiASc

Sweet! I guess I got a few of you then. I'm assuming that's also you in the two that are a few above that one (with SW in the background)- I really like those two.

Blackfield....
I'm just starting to listen to them!  Have enjoyed thoroughly what I've listened to so far and would love some recommendations for songs and albums and such...
As it were I have Blackfield ( the self titled album )  and II.th

They only have three albums, so the only one you're missing is Welcome to my DNA. It's good, but not nearly as good as the first two.

It's better than Blackfield I by far.

I'm not sure where exactly I am, but II is definitely my favorite, I love I... and DNA is actually really growing on me, especially after that show. I'm getting past the lyrics.

Agreed. Blackfield II has my favorite songs, but all in all is probably my least favorite album because of Some Day and Miss U. The only other Blackfield song I don't like is On The Plane. BF1 is flawless imo.

Gross. Some Day has one of the most boring vocal melodies I've ever heard. Music is also repetitive and boring. And the horrible lyrics! "They'd like to have you in their members' club" lawlz

I thought it was widely accepted as one of the worst BF songs.  :lol

BFII is very solid overall, the only think that has it beaten is that I love more songs on BFI and Welcome to my DNA.
But yeah, Some Day is one of my favorites on BFII, the only song I like more is This Killer, which is quite possibly the most underrated BF-song, it's just AMAZING.
One of their best for sure.
