First song streaming from the new album is "Fallen World." Pretty awesome track imo. Vocals are quite good even if they don't match up to ZP Theart.

Dragonlol, Studioforce, Dragonfarce, etc.

Someone had to get that out of the way.

Well it certainly sounds like Dragonforce...

BlobVanDam

It sounds just like Dragonforce's other song, except slightly faster with worse vocals.

And that guitarist should hold back on the vibrato/pick scrapes/pitch pedal if he's trying to pass off that sped up garbage as real playing. It is so damn obvious that it's sped up. Who's he trying to fool? :lol

Yeah the new song isn't that good.  I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.  This song would not satisfy that inexplicable urge.

Sig'd.

This song confirmed that I no longer have any interest in this band whatsoever. Shame, because I used to really like them.

I will proudly admit that Dragonforce is a fun guilty pleasure band for me.

Unfortunately, I saw the band falling into a rut around Inhuman Rampage, in that there's only so many really fast songs with really fast harmony guitar parts and really fast trade offs that a band could do before it got boring. I saw the occasional sign that the band might try to break out of that rut on Ultra Beatdown-I liked the instrumental break on Reasons to Live, which bordered on prog metal at times-but this song is just DF being DF, but only for 4 minutes.

Some styles, a band can get away with essentially doing the same thing over and over. (AC/DC springs to mind.) Dragonforce isn't one of those bands. This is just...boring.

Over this band.  I know bands have similar sounding songs but this is a joke.  I own Dragonforce's first album, that's all I need.  Wait, I think I might own the second one too.

I saw them with BTBAM years ago. They put on one hell of a live show. Granted, it was in a small ass club. Their older stuff is much better.  :coolio

Disciples of Babylon. Case and point.  :police:

Dragonforce was one of those bands I used to listen to years ago, thinking it was.
Ah, 'nostalgia'. That new thing was shit by the way, nostalgia for Valley of the Damned.

Crying for thunder that's SO FAR AWAY!

I hate that I'm actualy looking forward to this  :-[ I saw them years ago with ZP and a few months ago with Marc Hudson and I must say, Hudson seems to be the better signer but he just dosn't give the same feel to the band as ZP did

Jaq

I have to admit if they do more songs like Cry Thunder and less of the play at 1000 mph speedy songs, I might actually be interested in the new DF album. It'd be nice if they realized their sound's getting really played out.

So this leaked yesterday and on my first listen, I was pleasantly surprised. Marc is a natural fit for the band and it seems like the band's compositional skills have improved significantly. I think Herman Li might actually become a respected guitarist after this  Anyways, it's definitely my favorite DF album even if the songs are a bit samey (although that's nothing new).

I am liking it a LOT more than Ultra Beatdown. Average song length is about five minutes as opposed to seven, a lot of the video game sounds have been, if not removed then pushed to the background, and it's a lot catchier than Ultra Beatdown was. Sure, a lot of it is really fast power metal, but they cut off a lot of the fat from the instrumental breaks, and Marc Hudson does a great job as vocalist. File me under pleasantly surprised as well.

And OH, the chorus to "Last Man Stands" is a thing of beauty.  :metal

I received this album today after I ordered it because it was on special for $6.70.

On my first listen, I must say I'm enjoying this quite a lot.  It's not as over the top and has a few songs that are more melodic with some really good melodies.  The faster stuff is here of course, but not as much as it was before.  I still have the last 2 songs to go, but this isn't too bad.  I don't see myself listening to this over and over but it's enjoyable, and the singer is an excellent fit.

:lol I'm a sucker for fast melodic stuff so Fallen World is a treat for me and there's something about Dragonforce outrageously fast song's that always seems to make me happy and giggle like a schoolgirl!

dayum... I completely forgot about this... should order right away...

ZKX-2099

I was severely let down. Gave it a good few listens and nothing sticks out in my head.

I'll always have Sonic Firestorm...

Bertielee

The guy's one hell of a drummer. And, I didn't know there were so many subtle things I couldn't hear that I notice seeing them played. Gorgeous!

Interesting, this is easily their best album since debut IMO, but I was never that big into them.

ZKX-2099

Maybe I'll give it another go. But for now... eh.

Really? I think that Sonic Firestorm is actually at least on par with their debut, and this album doesn't come close to it. It beats the crap out of Inhuman Rampage and Ultra Beatdown, sure, but that's not that hard.

I mean, I like it, but only in very small doses, and it has nothing on the first two albums.
