I never even caught that either, so don't feel bad.

This smart cookie didn't pick up on that either.  :lol

Now wait a minute man... :eek
That's my favorite from the album for fucks sake!

It could be my fav too, top 3 at least.

Easily one of my favs too, and one of the first songs that excited me from the initial album samples too. :tup

I don't know if thi has been discussed before, but I'm even a bit ashamed to say i'VE listened to Impermanent resonance more than DT12 this year. I know that DT12 is an objectivley better album, I consider it as such and i love it, but something keeps me listening to IR almost every week.

What and what? Just enjoy what you enjoy. It's in the eye of the beholder. This is music not a scoreboard or math equation.

There is no such thing as objectively better, as has been pointed out. Nothing to be ashamed about either! I much prefer IR to DT12 myself, and think it's the better album (subjectively, as there is no objectively). It's a very consistent album with strong melodies throughout. One of my most listened to albums since it came out.

You guys really teach people to feel good :D I've missed this place. What I'm trying to say is that I consider DT12 to be the better album, but I've listened to IR a lot more, and I find it more enjoyable... I don't even know if that is even possible, but i feel that way!

The only song I'm not too keen on is Say You're Still Mine and that's because I'm still in my 'fuck bitches' mode, so the entire songs basis and meaning is lost on me.
Oh, so that's why I'm really digging the song.  :lol

Yeah, there really is no objective measure of music.
Absolutely.

Some of the tracks are growing on me a little bit, but still, I don't see IR topping the magnificent Static impulse in my list. Not even coming close to it. However, the more I listen to both, the more I feel the need to get Elements of persuasion...

Same here. I got EOP last week and I really enjoy it. It's really different from the other two, but I love it and I'd say it's the heaviest JLB album (I haven't listened to the Mullmuzzler albums yet), although it doesn't feature any growling :2metal:

I'm not all that excited, most of it's just the latest album alt mixes and crap.

Demos are neat, but not too much to get excited over. However the alt. mixes, if they are significantly different will definitely be worth a listen.

I read a review of the EP and reportedly the remixes aren't that great. I might get this if there was some new material, but there isn't and the release is digital anyway, so I'll pass.

 I would have loved to hear some demos from IR sessions. Matt's voice in Unraveling is IMO better than JLB's.

This.  That would actually make this thing worthwhile.  Not excited and probably not gonna get this to be honest.  I have both special editions, so that only leaves a couple of remixes and the demo of Just Watch Me.  Nah.  Big missed opportunity not putting Understand on this or even some live stuff from the EOP tour.

There's 1:30 minute samples of all the tracks on iTunes.

I Tried is a generic four-to-the-floor dance remix. Not even a good one.
Over The Edge and Euphoric are both dubstep mixes. :\

Fairly disappointing, IMO. Honestly, if the EP included at least one Instrumental mix of ANY of the songs, I'd be all over that baby.

Hell Yea!
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Besides the remixes, the EP just seems to be another way to get the two bonus tracks, so there's that.

I suppose, for those who don't like Digipaks, and I recall a few people here who felt precisely that way.

Yeah but when it comes to catchiness, it has a lot of stiff competition from the rest of the album. :P
