I was listening to some station on last.fm tonight, and a cool song came on. It was by a band called Mouth of the Architect. I immediately went to Amazon to find their albums and add them to my running list of albums I need to buy.

I then discovered that they were already on said list.

I dreamed that Dream Theater were playing a song (in a theatre, funny that), where Kevin Moore was on sitar. I'm now trying to work out how the song went so I can write it.

It was an awesome song, but my alarm clock went off just as it got to the solo (it was an accousic guitar solo, and John Myung was playing it).

I once had a dream where DT had a female drummer, and were having a reunion show with MP, with both drummers playing at the same time. And this dream was before MP left the band.

Nice man, have fun! That's an early holiday, but it seems logical since you're living in Finland... Mine start in two weeks, but I have two exams before that. They're not that hard though and the courses they belong to are really fun. Math ftw!

Everyone else at school seems to have some exams next week, so I guess I'm the lucky bastard

I had two exams today and neither was too easy. I'm sure I'll pass both of them, but I need to work harder in the spring.

That's nice. Such reflections are always good, especially since you probably passed them nonetheless. I have a tendency to work a lot harder for the courses I like than for the courses I don't like. Fortunately, in my study you are free to choose any course you like as long as you fulfill the requirements for a Bachelor's Degree in Earth Science. This does obviously include an x amount of courses in category x etc, to make sure that you cannot be a Jack of All Trades. But at the start of the second year I didn't really know what kind of direction/specialisation I wanted to do and I still have done only two courses that I didn't like in hindsight, and I've found what I like most now

I dreamed I went to my first ever DT-concert, but the seats I got were in some room with no visual to the stage

All we got was a tv-screen to watch the show from and James coming to the room sometime during the show, and singing to us without the band. And then went back to the stage and continued with the band.. I was so relieved when I was woke up and realized it was a dream

. Before the dream I had bought the tickets to the show in february and all that was left were the crappiest seats at the farthest corner of the arena, but I hope they wont be quite THAT bad

. A private solo gig with Labrie would be pretty unique though

I live in Finland and I still have three exams, last one on the 19th day. Still have to go to work at christmas though. But thats nothing really, at least I don't have to study half of the free time home.

Happy Independence Day!

In other news: I ordered 3 CDs in August - one for me and the other two for my sister. I got mine pretty quickly, but my sister's CDs were out of stock, so she had to wait for one of them until November. According to the website the other one was sent 2 days ago, but I changed my address to my student apartment since placing that order and the mail will be redirected there. The problem is that I won't go back until early January, so my sis has to wait another month. Worst luck ever?

Is it me, or is the way that these episodes are presented comes out of something like old (early 2000s) MTV's Making of the Band reality series or something to that nature?

I feel like I expected a different way for them to present this, but I have no idea on how they could have presented this, differently.

Well, it's not really prog, but definitely has some prog tendencies. Very little keyboard use, but some longer songs with interesting structures that make it more than your run of the mill metal album. Definitely worth checking out.
