Some folks have expressed the view that polls like this are silly and irrelevant.  And in the overall scheme of daily events I agree.  But this is fun to me.  I love DT and want them to win, simple.  It's called loyalty and pride in the one you feel "close" to.  And if nothing else it shows the band we are still there and doing the little things we can to let them know we appreciate them.  Vote the hell out this mofo.

Not at all, I was just disagreeing with your comment that they weren't asking which was the better metal album. Doesn't really matter either way. People are free to vote on whatever criteria they choose to.

I&W is metal, but also includes a lot of other different elements. Maybe that makes it less metal than most of the albums in the tournament, but I still think it belongs in the poll, because a lot of (prog) metal bands have been influenced by I&W and it has its heavier moments, like PMU and UAGM.

Yup, this is all about our passion versus their sheer numbers. Hopefully this latest Facebook announcement of theirs will just result in yet another momentary surge of Metallica votes while we keep on going steady. I never expected us to be able to pull this off but I'll be damned if I give up. But hey, as long as Metallica don't get anywhere near 90% of the votes we will at least have proven that Dream Theater's fans are the most devoted and passionate (since their fans outnumber us at least 10 to 1).

Then again, taking down albums such as Holy Diver and Rust in Peace on our way to the finals already proved that.

Just to make sure everyone knows; you can vote once every hour. If you try to vote again after 50 minutes the results will display the way they usually do when you vote but a line of text will tell you that your vote has already been counted. There's no need to sit around and spam as only one vote will be registered, you need to enter the site again after 60+ minutes in order to be able to vote again.
