It's holding steady just under 54% DT, but I'm sure there is another onslaught to come tonight or tomorrow.  Would be nice to have a little more breathing room.

If we were to view this optimistically there are a couple of conclusions we can draw at this point:

*When Metallica posted about this on their Facebook account (followed by like 30.000.000 people) they went from 40% of the votes to 80% of the votes, really fast, before the surge died out.

That means we went from 60% to 20% in no time at all back then, but up until their second Facebook announcement (today) we worked ourselves up to about 62% again.

*When Metallica posted about this on their Facebook account the second time they went from about 38% to about 46% before their surge died off.

To sum this crap up... if it goes on like this we are winning in the long run. More votes are constantly accumulated which means their "surges" will make less of a difference to the results the longer this goes on. From a statistical point of view, we will win if nothing changes (and by that I mean if we keep on voting the way we've done so far and if they don't start voting the way we do). The problem is, it would be stupid to assume that those managing Metallica's PR, including their Facebook account, are going to let us walk away with the victory. They will attempt to rally their troops. Keep voting and don't stop until the fat lady has run out of breath.

Actually I thought we could not win this considering how popular Metallica is and the people on their fanpage but the result surprises me. I now think we can win.

The number of voted involved in a surge is roughly the same every time, so they are bound to become less and less influent as the time progresses. If we carry on voting patiently we will reduce the influence of the next surge!
