Right now the album is up against Dio's 'Holy Diver'. It's trailing only by a very small margin of about 3%, so you should go there and vote for it. You should vote for it NOW, in fact. Unless, of course, you prefer 'Holy Diver', in which case you should probably vote for that instead. Also, keep in mind that you can cast a vote every hour. Now, go forth!

TheGreatPretender

Damn it, it was winning yesterday!

Dio is awesome, but he doesn't have a single whole album that could hold a candle to Images and Words.

BlobVanDam

I already voted. For Dio. I prefer IaW as an album by FAR, but it is a metal tournament.

TheGreatPretender

It doesn't matter anyway. AC/DC is gonna win this popularity contest.

Hayden

It depends how well this is circulated amongst the community, though. Remember the readers' poll held by Rolling Stone in regards to the top 10 prog rock albums of all time?

Yes, but if they're neck to neck with Dio, then I'm sure that even if we edge them out and Dio loses, all those Dio fans will end up voting for AC/DC, and then some.

Why even bother voting for anything in that poll in the first place? Not to be cynical, but it's a poll for an obscure magazine most of us will forget within a few days and its validity is nil if it allows people to vote more than once. At that point, it's not even remotely a display of which album is more liked but rather whose fanbase is more willing to spam vote. The fact that you can vote 24 times in a day cements this fact.

So let's prove to everyone that we're the best damn spam voters on the net!!!!

Rise up, be counted, stand strong and spam vote!

No, seriously though, I'm not gonna bother.

Well, all of this.

Well, as of now, Images has a slight edge.

I do agree with Floyd though, this poll isn't particularly fair. Spam voting+links on fan forums will definitely skew any and all results.

That's the way most internet polls work, no fault on either side.

Looks like DT should win. Up 53.2-46.8 with only 16 hours to go.

wasteland

It depends on the number of votes. The more have voted, the likelier is at this point a DT win.

I find it slightly annoying that DT keep spamming us (at least on twitter) in order to vote for these kind of polls, maybe they should get their shit together and announce a release date for the live album instead of keep posting vote-begging stuff.

Dublagent66

What's the point?  2 different albums, 2 different genres.  Apples and oranges...

Well, look at all the contenders. They're all different subgenres of Metal.

Although frankly, I wouldn't even call AC/DC Metal, but whatever. You're right, it's kinda pointless.

wolfking

The match ups for this whole poll are stupid and random and don't make any sense at all.

LieLowTheWantedMan

Now they're up against my most hated band, who happen to not even be metal. Perfect.

DT's going to lose, unfortunately. Back in Black has nothing on I&W.

Cedar redaC

I think Images and Words can win, but it will require spam voting on a scale unseen since the Rolling Stones Poll a few months ago.

Apples and oranges. IaW is an amazing prog rock/metal album, but Back in Black is one of the best hard rock albums of all time. I think both are equally strong at what they set out to do.

wolfking

At the end of the day, who cares, it's just a pointless internet poll, it doesn't really prove anything.

Does anyone else think AC/DC is just....bad?

Back in Black must be the most overrated album out there. It's not even metal for starters.

I know Images and Words will lose because people have garbage taste.

Welcome bro, I agree with every fucking word of this.  The amount we hear ACDC in Australia is just frustrating as hell.

I can't even stand. Welcome to the club.

The Presence of Frenemies

I'm surprised DT even has over 1/3 here. I think AC/DC had over 80% in the first round. Would've expected another 80/20.

Haters gonna hate. Back In Black deserves the praise it gets (elsewhere, that is, since there's obviously not going to be a positive word about it here).
It's not a "metal" album, so I agree it probably doesn't really belong in the poll, but otherwise I don't see any shame in IaW losing out to it. They're both very different, but great albums.

theseoafs

Don't get me wrong, I've been known to throw on an AC/DC song every now and then.  But Back in Black isn't nearly in the same league as I&W.
