Is there any confirmation on this news? Chudm said he got the info from an interview with JLB, but nothing is official yet, as of right now, it's just a glorified rumor.
That is supposed to be in an interview, to be published/released soon. Once the interview is actually released, that should serve as adequate confirmation. I'm sure JLB and the guys wouldn't allow something wrong to be published about something as monumental as a DVD shoot.

I only brought it up because I am not aware of chudm's credentials.

When any metal band plays anywhere in South America they normally have a ton of crazy fans
Exactly what I was thinking. Their crowds usually far exceed anything North American crowds could dream of. I read somewhere that the capacity of Luna Park was 35,000 (which I believe is for the entire stadium. A concert would have a smaller capacity, maybe 25-28,000 total?). Although I doubt they will sell it out, I believe they should sell the majority of the capacity in ticket sales. I wouldn't be surprised if they have 20,000 in attendance, at least, since they have done that in South America before, specifically in Chile.

Luna Park has 14000 seats (it's an indoor arena), and if i'm not wrong both dates back in 2010 were sold out.

Awesome! Refering to the ytsejam bootlegs:

James: "That's my job. I got all of each night's recording and I've documented it."

Man! He kept that quiet!

That is fantastic, though. I love it when James gets stuck in. Always happy enough when I hear he's joining the band in the studio - hearing he's doing the bootlegs is among my favourite Dream Theater things ever. I had no idea YJR was still going - presumed it dead. Spirit carries on..!

Cheers very much for sharing all this with us, chud. Great questions, great answers, seems like a fantastic interview.

Its even more awesome to hear that they are actually planning to do a Ytsejam release after the Live DVD is taken care of. Not to mention the live DVD itself, and these so called "stellar" things that will happen with the DVD. :metal

Thanks very much for the clip, can't wait for the DVD! (and the rest of the interview)

If they're gonna do another Ytsejam after the Live DVD/CD, I can see them doing a show when MM first joined. That way we get ANTR and TCOT.

Only TCOT, ANTR luckily kept on the shelves.  ;)

I was at both concerts in 2010, the first one was sold out but the second one had lots of free seats. The prices for the tickets are very high and I really doubt they will sell out the second show this time. The ticket pre-sale for the first show started last week and half the stadium is already sold.

Also I'd love to find out what they'll be doing for the second night. If the setlist is gonna be different then I'm going to both.

TheOutlawXanadu

I am so excited for the South American DVD! Based off their setlists the last few legs, here would be my optimal set:

1. Bridges in the Sky
2. These Walls
3. The Dark Eternal Night
4. This Is the Life
5. Drum Solo
6. Ytse Jam
7. Lost Not Forgotten
---
7. The Silent Man (acoustic)
8. Beneath the Surface (acoustic)
---
9. Outcry
10. On the Backs of Angels
11. Forsaken
12. Through My Words
13. Fatal Tragedy
14. Breaking All Illusions
---
15. Learning to Live

And just the thought of a double whammy (BAI + LtL) would make me smile in my pantaloons.

Some may argue it's the same song played twice as encore   :neverusethis:

If DT decided to play LTL, and then they said, "How about we play that for you guys again?" and actually played LTL again, I wouldn't complain.

True. Maybe I should switch "Outcry" with "Breaking All Illusions". I wouldn't want to remove "Learning to Live" because I'm tired of "Under a Glass Moon" and "Metropolis". Are there any other closers they've been playing?
