I really wouldn't want DT to go for a metal drummer, (Thomas Haake could do), cause they've overdone the metal thing anyway for the last few years. Bringing a drummer in from a metal point of view will only make them to overdo it more. But I'm feeling like (at least) Jordan and James are feeling more towards a prog rock type style for the new album.

Has anyone mentioned Jon Fishman the drummer from Phish? He is a showman just like Mike.  Wears a dress while playing.  I can imagine him and J.R engaging in dueling Vacuum cleaner Solo's.  The man knows his way around a Vacuum I can tell you that.

I disagree.  No disrespect to James, as he is a very talented singer.  But his voice is also on the thin side.  He needs someone to harmonize with him to make the vocal parts sound full and dynamic in a live setting.  And DT's songs have a lot of harmonies.  JP is too pitchy to carry that duty all on his own, and since Jordan and JM don't sing, that's what he would have to do if they don't pick up a drummer who can help out with the backup vox.

Deen Castronovo Singing wise perfect fit.  Not sure he has the drumming chops though.

Deen Castronovo would be awesome for the singing. He could even do really high harmonies but I don't think the style would fit too well.
