This line is just so annoying.

It should have read like this...

The thing about this whole situation is, everyone keeps using the "husband-wife" analogy. In fact, that couldn't be more off base. It's not "Mike only felt the parents needed a break so he could fuck other women," it's, "Mike only felt the parents needed a little breather so he could fuck other men." That's if we're going to bother with the relationship analogy at all, of course. Which we shouldn't.

Mike is the one making analogies, I merely make observations about them.

Why would they update their article like that? It's responsible of them to update it when Charlie Z disproved their speculation, but not stick it right in the middle of the article where it looks ridiculous.

Regarding the videos, they were referred to as "audition videos". I wonder if they had to be submitted to the band first..

Just heard on the XM radio channel BoneYard that they have made a decsion on a drummer, and it will be announced shortly, and start the new record in Jan.

Petrucci said that a week ago, with the exception that he never technically said they've picked the guy, only that auditions were held and the announcement will come shortly. Then again, quite a few news outlets and websites have misquoted him in the past week.

my dad said he heard on siriusxm radio yesterday that dream theater was going to announce the new drummer within the next few days.

i think someone over there just misinterpreted a news story. still interesting that they were saying this.

So much speculation. Well, they go into the studio in 2 months or less time from now, so...we'll know not too far off from now.

I wouldn't imagine that they wouldn't announce the new drummer before entering the studio. But who knows? (Mike Portnoy knows)
