He made that thing sound as good as it looks too.   :hefdaddy

That blues live album is a perfect place to start if you are into blues.  If you want just heavier rock stuff, I've found the compilation, Back on the Streets - The Rock Collection is a good one, or just get this;

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Platinum_Collection_(Gary_Moore_album)

I love Stevie Ray Vaughn so it stands to reason that I might enjoy Moore as well. I was just reminded of that live performance of Hendrix's Little Wing from '83 that he did that is out on YouTube. Man was just stunning.

Cool, thank you. I'll check these out.

More importantly, the 2nd song I ever got in a Roulette, and still the best (she's the brunette in this video).

Pretty sure that Christophe Godin (guest guitar solo in this video) is also the co-Founder of The Prize.

As for Beautiful Sin - Take Me Home

She's done a lot of different guest and touring spots too.

Godin is a co-founder and the only guitarist in the band.

Gotchya... I meant to imply Godin was the guest solo spot in the Epysode/Obsessions video.
That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad

As I said in the FW thread, I really enjoy the Live Over Europe album. Great energy in the performances and juicy song selection. The Audrey Horne live is a lot of fun too. It has a video portion too - definitely not a fancy production, but the footage suggests their gigs are pretty great.
As for the other two: Plague's Portraits of Mind is a very good death album in the vein of Death (the band), 2020 release. And Madder Mortem are a great band of weirdos (musically speaking  :)) from Norway. Any fans here?

I have Marrow Saved in my Spotify.

Marrow is their most recent, and it’s very good too (maybe even better)

They’ve been around for a while, but they haven’t released a ton of stuff. My favorite might be Deadlands (2002 release)…it had some remnants of their earlier “doomy” stuff, but already quite progressive-minded…

I've probably only heard it a couple of times. I think I thought it was interesting when it came out so I Saved it. I couldn't tell you anything about it, but since your post, I pulled it up. I might need to give it a proper listen. It's been a while.

I do need to scrub my library though.

Plenty of goodness in here!! By the way, Angel Dust were so good. Enlighten the Darkness is probably my favorite.

Nick, Enlighten the Darkness is by far their best.  One of the best metal albums I've heard.  So incredible and underrated.

They are amazing.  I sent you the song Cross of Hatred in one of your roulettes and it scored very well.

Enlighten the Darkness is by far my fav, but Bleed is easily their best song I'd say.  Another good one is the excellent Freedom Awaits buried at the end of Human Bondage.  But on a whole, Enlighten the Darkness is unbeatable.

Agree with all of this.

Tim - definitely DO check them out. I've never heard their 80s albums (they are supposed to be thrash-ier??), but everything they did since their late 90s comeback is really, really good. Bleed and Enlighten the Darkness above all, but Border of Reality (slightly more classic power, that one...and with a cover of Spotlight Kid to boot) and Of Human Bondage are not too shabby either.

I have always though of Bleed (the song) as a heavier, moar powah version of Savatage's Edge of Thorns (the song), with the piano and the crunchy guitars. Fantastic song.

Oh, and you should also try the album "Why?" by Mercury Tide - it's the band Angel Dust's singer Dirk Thurisch put together after AD started their "hiatus" (?). Anders Iwers on bass (of Cemetary, Dark Tranquillity, Tiamat etc. fame). The title-track is super - almost a cross between Power and Gothic Metal.

This album is a masterclass in vocal mixing.

---------------------------------------------------

OK, I gave this a listen. I would need to listen to this a few more times for it to stick. My first impression is that this band does a lot of things well, but nothing that really stands out. There is an overall quality to the songs though.
