Is she wearing headphones? Interesting.

That's what I noted, it's weird because it somehow brought me back to this sci-fi world.
Maybe it represents a contrast to the huge NOMAC's?

So the GNE overtakes the RRM with the reveal of Faythe, 4-3 with one to reveal. Clock Person is the last. Also, I have a feeling that the last map piece left to be revealed will be mostly ocean.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing what's behind the "Places" section. We might get pictures of some of the important locations to give us some perspective of the events taking place. I wonder, for example, what city is depicted on the cover.

New Maineland.
Yeah, I have no idea what the cakeless person in that analogy is meant to be eating. If he's got some sort of cake substitute, it should really have been worked into the narrative at some point. As it stands, the options are:

  • Hoard a cake just to stare blankly into its doughy edifice.
  • Make futile chewing motions with your mouth while starving to death.

I had a weird thought...
If TA is around 2 hours 10 minutes long (or 13) and average DT Evenings without the intermission clock at around 2:43-:2:50 hours, that leaves like at least 30-35 minutes of remaining time.

I've been trying to wonder about an encore, and I'm almost begging to have Octavarium as an encore.
Or have a two part encore where Surrender to Reason and The Bigger Picture are played, followed by 8VM.

I mean, that poll for favorite epic can't be in vain, Octavarium fucking won!

If they play Octavarium i think i would literally cry. But i think it's very unlikely, didn't they say they were playing nothing but The Astonishing?

That would be a short show for DT evening.
Consider Disc I as the first part of the show, then intermission, then only 50 minutes more of music and the end of it?
I don't think they'd want to stick to that exclusively. One can hope, and I hope we get an encore of an epic or something, 8VM seems to me the only worthy encore after hearing TA, like A Change of Seasons was to SFAM

You don't think they'll play 2 hours and 40 minute shows without an intermission right? The remaining half hour is mostly a break of some sort (likely inbetween Act 1 and 2).
people on this board are actual music fans who developed taste in music and not casual listeners who are following current fashion trends and listening to only current commercial hits.

I  never said that, I said the shows WITHOUT the intermission clock at that, exceeding 3 hours WITH the intermission.

Breaking the Fourth Wall is about 2 hours 45 minutes. Thats excluding the breaks. The Astonishing is about 2 hours 13 minutes, meaning we have a half hour left. Maybe we get an encore, although it would be unlikely to end the show on something completely unrelated. Maybe the show is just a bit shorter? Or maybe they add a lot of narration, scene changes and extended solos?

Looks like Amanda Seyfried to me. With pink hair. Which is cool.

I'd also fathom a guess that while Faythe is with the GNE, the song 'Losing Faythe' is probably about her becoming jaded and eventually defecting. Headphones also suggest she doesn't go for all this no-music tomfoolery and the pink hair suggests she is a bit of a maverick who is her own person - the pink sheep of the family (see what I did there :o) -  who won't be told what to do by anyone let alone her parents  :tup ;)

I wonder if all the GNE characters are related. Arabelle is likely to be Nafaryus' wife (the Empress), Daryus looks like he could be his brother, and Faythe could be Nafaryus and Arabelle's daughter.

Daryus is the prince, and I'm guessing Faythe to be his daughter. We'll get that annoucement soon enough. Also, can't wait for clock guy.

I think that's a very real possibility, and would be a logical conclusion from what we know.

Also, on one of your earlier comments about the last map piece: From what I can tell on the pre-order page, there actually looks to be a little border looking somewhat like a mirror with some writing in it or maybe a map key in that remaining corner  :tup

Faythe's is loyal to GNE -> Her secret crush (Gabriel) gives her a pair of phones -> She discovers music -> MOMENT OF BETRAYAL -> She must chose between her family, the empire, and her love, the rebels ->THE PATH THAT DIVIDES -> Someone (from GNE) discovers her struggle and tries to change her mind, without success -> kills her brutally -> LOSING FAYTHE

If I was going to any of these shows I wouldn't want them play things that are not from TA. That'd ve pretty weird considering how they've set this all up. Like watching a complete and contained movie and have it end with a single scene from a completely different movie. It would completely betray the vibe that it seems like they're going with.

Well, they're all in family with each other, why'd you expect the daughter of the emperor to be black or hispanic?

Because somewhere in 2+ hours of music, you would expect a plot twist that the mother had an affair with the gardener.

Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

Not knowing the story (like a certain privileged member of this forum) I had no idea that the eight people who are characters in this story are all family. If that's true, then it makes perfect sense.

There is still an overriding, obvious, assumption here that I find...odd.

If it's confirmed that there are no 10-minute songs on the album, you can guarantee some will have a moan about it, despite the fact that overall, we're getting about an hour MORE new DT music than we normally get when a new album comes out. Essentially, we're getting two albums worth of new music in one go.

I didn't say every character is in family with each other, but the GNE is - it's the "royal family tree". Emperor, empress, brother and sister.

Please note that I didnt tried to suggest he isnt a big deal, just wanted to know if you knew him, as I consider many of this forum to a much more varied music knowledge than myself. Thats why I didnt bother to Wiki him, sometimes "from mouth to ear" (err my english is lagging ;)) is the best way to know a man status.
It's certainly a better way than "ass to mouth."
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.
