I mostly made my own, so I have a ton of custom ones saved. Skype is awesome for video calls, which I consider its primary function, but it's very basic for text, and it's actually gotten worse with recent updates. I rarely do video, so that doesn't really matter to me.

Ooh I remember doing that but i forgot how I did it. Something like - if you wanted a larger static icon you had to make it a two frame gif of the same frame twice and it would let you save it whatever size you wanted.

Yep, that was it. It had to technically be an animation to allow the larger size, so it was just the same thing for two frames. I don't know why they had that weird limitation though.

And I find most of the default Skype emoticons are really awful too. Too many of them convey the wrong meaning. The tongue out one is mocking instead of joking, and instead of a big smile, it has laughing. They just all look terrible, and have unnecessary animation. Why does a cake need to spin?

Because it's the bare minimum done in an increasingly poor format. The new "let's make it look like we're using an iPhone" format is terrible.

I'm supposed to be updating the spreadsheets for our two 5-switch stacks. They want to know which ports are active, whether or not auto-negotiate is enabled, the duplex, and speed. HOWEVER, the password list does not have the passwords for these specific switches. So now I wait....

It takes a while for your body to adjust. I am on this night shift 5 months now and I still haven't been able to fully adapt to these hours. Consistency is key.

I turn the animation off in the preferences. The one for (music) is FOUL. Dancing tied eighth notes ? F--- that.
