Late start to the morning gents?  Gonna be a wild weekend here.  Mrs.jingle has been in a foul mood the last couple of days, and things did not start well this morning.  Ah, whatareyagonnado?

Christmas decorating time - jingle.son and I do all the hard labour of bringing everything out of the crawl-space; while the girls to all the actual decorating of the house.  Also, gonna finally see Spectre tonight with jingle.son.  Will try to squeeze a workout in there somehow too.  Maybe get on the bike in a few minutes while everyone is still asleep.

Started a new album of Logic sounds only. What those silly yanks would call EDM but not really.

It's a lot harder but easy at the same time. No live instruments to record but I can only write by putting in MIDI notes so solos and stuff are a pain

But after 11 or so releases I want to do something a bit "for me" and make something a bit more arty and experimental.

You don't have a MIDI keyboard of any kind? You could probably pick up a small one really cheap just for note entry. Makes things a lot easier to be able to play around live and come up with parts too.

I did but that doesn't work either !

Damn. I used to write all of my music by manually inputting the notes, which worked just fine, but I find it helps when coming up with chords and melodies to be able to just mess around live. I do all of my music that way now. I find it faster and more organic.
Plus it almost makes me feel like a legit musician.

I can play ok on keyboard, but I've never been great. Never had any lessons or anything, but I've always had a keyboard to mess around on. When you're recording one layer at a time and can quantize and edit it later, you don't need to be great, it's just a good start for getting the notes in there.

But I'm a little wary of the Thanksgiving game in Dallas.  Not that I'm scared of Dallas, but with a short-week Thursday game, the home team always has a demonstrable advantage.

Yup.  3 days and travel is so tough for a road team.  Also Dallas is fighting for it's life right now.  Panthers D is so good though which will be the equalizer I think.

I've got the Line6 UX1 Audio Interface. I wouldn't mind the next one up which comes with a couple of octaves built in.

And I never use the on board guitar amps. They are all digital and weak. I use my Blackstar 100 watt valve head for guitar and bass  .
