Nope, I have nothing to do with the workings of the forum. I'm working on videos for myself.

All of my videos are intended for Youtube, so that would be a yes. I want to make more videos and hopefully make a little bit of money from them.

My web design skills extend as far as my own website, which isn't particularly good, and hasn't been updated in years. Not really an area I'm interested in, even though that seems to be where all of the jobs are now (around here at least).

I just do video, and I dabble in 3D programming for games or whatever.

That's cool.  I dabbled in web design also and it's something I pick up pretty quick when I actually sit down and focus on it.  I was looking for a couple of good books but it's overwhelming because there are so many different books out there.

I'm ok at it, because I'm already used to more complex scripting languages, but there are just so many components to learn to put together a useful site these days, and so many different approaches, it's kind of overwhelming. Then you have to worry about compatibility.
And I don't find the end result as satisfying as what I usually do. Making games is fun, because you write a bunch of code, and then you get something you can have fun with.

I definitely agree with that. I was starting to learn 3D back at my old job when they reassigned me. I was so fucking pissed.  They sent me to this 3D class that cost them $1500 and then two weeks later gave me a new task.  WTF

I was working on the building of a new water treatment plant that will ultimately wind up feeding most of NYC's water supply.  They wanted a lot of the drawings done in 3D. Most of the civil engineer's drawings were done in 3D.  I worked for the electrical contractor but still had to add structural backgrounds to our drawings.

So more of a CAD sort of thing. I like the more creative stuff than the technical stuff.

Yes, that's exactly what it was.  I agree with you though. I always wanted to delve into something more creative, as opposed to just drawing lines.
