GIFs from LDSSmile?  But DTF is my safe place on the internet.

The look on that kid's face is priceless, though.

Every time I see this one:

I have to think of this:

Infomercial Gifs, because real life is hard.

My favourite:

I imagine it's sort of fun to invent different ways of how people could screw up something to justify a products existence.

That's what I always think when I see commercials like this.  Cracking open an egg can be tricky until you get the hang of it, but coming up with a dozen ways to do it wrong, plus make it look ridiculous while you're at it, takes a certain skill.

Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

That was a memorable Far Side comic for me because the moment I saw it, I knew what Larson was going for, and how badly he had failed, and how a lot of people would misinterpret the comic.  And I was right.  Even looking at it now, I just wonder how Larson could not have seen it.

I have a book of his called "The Pre-History of The Far Side" which has a section on some of the various controversies that he's managed to stir up over the years, most of them due to people misunderstanding the comic, but most of those, admittedly, were at least partially his fault.  It's a pretty good read, and funny, too.

Bottle rocket under ice.

Are we seeing the inspiration of some obscure metal band's new album art?
Perhaps you should ask bosk to reverse the "e" and "a" in the second half of your user name.

I've done that many times and never got the ice to crack like that. That's freaking awesome. We go to one lake every winter and and the ice is usually pretty thick. The explosions don't penetrate. It's pretty cool because you hear a low boom and the ice starts creaking.

This isn't a gif but this thread is the most appropriate I could think of.   This is a time lapse animation created by my local city museum of the scene at Pompeii as it was buried by the eruption of Mt Vesuvius.

Sorry big man - it was more intended for history buffs. If you clicked on it expecting an historic volcanic eruption flattening a city to be motivational , then I apologise  :)
