If there was a straight man in the 80s who said they didn't want to nail Paul Abdul, they were lying.  :lol

You could likely say the same about the 90's and Mariah Carey.

Paula Abdul was my first pre-teen/teenage crush.  Good lord, was she hot!

Well, here's one who never considered Mariah Carey much to write home about.

Guns N' Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine

Never liked this song, or AFD.  I've tried too.

Paula Abdul - Straight Up

Eeeehh... no thanks.

I was a much bigger fan of Knight Rider than I was of The A-Team, but I caught an old Knight Rider episode on cable somewhat recently and was amazed at how absurd it was.

Fun fact about it, though: the voice of Kitt was by the same actor who played Benjamin's father in The Graduate.
I think of him as Mr. Feeny from Boy Meets World.  Or as Dr. Craig on St. Elsewhere.

I think of him as William Daniels.  He's been around for a while, certainly long enough for people to know his name.

Yeah, but then I get him confused with Anthony Daniels and start thinking that KITT was the voice of C3PO.

Anthony Daniels is the one I tend to forget.  I've been a William Daniels fan since I was 10 years old; I'd recognize his voice anywhere.  The first Star Wars movie didn't come out until five years later, and I didn't even know Anthony Daniels' name until many, many years later.  And of course there's no way to confuse the two voices anyway.

That sounds like something I might write, actually.

[CSB]Many years ago, when my brother and his wife were stil dating, she and her family had gone on vacation in Florida.  My brother and his friend had decided "Hey, neither of us have anything to do tonight, neither of us have to work tomorrow, let's inexplicably drive to Florida and pay them a visit."  Just out of the clear blue, a desire to do something out of the ordinary.  They gassed up and hit the road within a half hour.  My parents weren't home to dissuade said road trip.  I left them a note:

I'm at Tina's, Chris and Derek went to Florida.  Be home later.

Coz

Many lulz were had by my brother and I when he returned home and found out about the note I left them and the "WTF" that ensued when my parents got it.   :lol[/CSB]

Paula Abdul - Straight Up

Ick.  More bubblegum 80s pop that not only did nothing for me at the time, but has aged pretty badly.  It sure doesn't help that her normal singing voice sounds like that of an 11-year old who is grating on your nerves merely by opening their mouth. :lol :lol

This song used to play all the time at the bowling alley / arcade we used to hang out at in high school.  I kinda liked it.

The other day I was listening to JLB's Static Impulse and there's a song on there (I can't remember which one at the moment) that has a melody that suddenly reminded me of "Straight Up".  Bizarre coincidence.

Roxette - The Look

My favorite song of theirs was from 1991 (Fading Like a Flower), but this was one was enjoyable enough.  Forgettable video, though.

I had a dream one time, my wife and I were at some kind of convention.  Huge hall, thousands of people, and we somehow got separated.  They had the bad piped-in music really loud.  "The Look" by Roxette was playing.  So I'm trying to find my wife in this huge crowd, and my ears are being bombarded the whole time by

♫♫ Na na na na na
♫♫ Na na na na na
♫♫ Na na na na na, na na
♫♫ Na na na na na
♫♫ Na na na na na
♫♫ Na na na na na
♫♫ Na na na na na
♫♫ She's got The Look

That one part of the song kept playing over and over.  I awoke feeling very angry and frustrated.  Also, I now hate that song.

Time for a big ball of cheese!!

Nelson - (Can't Live Without Your) Love and Affection

This song just reeks of cheese, but it is annoyingly catchy.  I say annoyingly because it is probably a song you should hate with the fire of a thousand suns, but it is just catchy enough to make you kind of enjoy it.  Sometimes. :lol :lol

I just listened to this album yesterday, actually. One of my "go to" wimpy albums. Really strong album, although definitely a layer of cheese on it (which is fine by me, as cheese is delicious! )

Even though this was the biggest hit of the album, it's not one of the better ones from the album. Still good and catchy with those trademark Nelson harmonies, but not a stand-out on the album.
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.
