OK, so lately I've been trying to stretch out a bit with the music I check out. I am currently on my first spin of "Weather Systems" and my reaction is:
Now, I haven't read the entire thread, but I will go back and review it.....I've heard they used to be a doom metal band?
This music is....beautiful, haunting, moving, uplifting, soaring, introspective.....moody.
How does a doom metal band evolve into...this? Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing it at all. The writing is inspired, even if, from a stylistic standpoint, it's not necessarily in my wheelhouse. I don't know how often I will listen to it, but wow, the use of dynamics here is amazing.
I can honestly say that I don't have anything like this in my CD collection.
So is "We're Here Because We're Here" in a similar vein to this?
