Now that's even MORE interesting.

And according to their Facebook, the album's been delayed until October 1st.  Not sure why, considering the album seems to be finished.  When they say "rockiest cut" do they mean it rocks the hardest or that its not so great?
Most rocktastic, sorry. Bad choice of words!

I think it's because a lot of albums were coming out the same week as it, The Killers' new album, most notably, but very few people will buy a handful of albums on the same day, so it's probably the record label going "let's spread this out a bit."

Might also be a promotion thing, of course. It'll now be six weeks between the single and the album, which is about standard. Could be possible that Survival cut into Madness' promo time, perhaps? Don't know. First guess is more likely.

This appeared online earlier, no source given, and was taken down within the hour. Expect this version to disappear soon, too, but for now - thirty minute full band interview about every inch of the upcoming album!!

Bands really need to stop jumping on the dubstep bandwagon.

I can only assume you've read nothing about that song, because what they're doing is pretty much the opposite of jumping on the bandwagon.

I doubt that is okay to post.  I could be wrong.

Anyway, Survival has really grown on me since the first time I heard it.  I'm loving it.
Sincerely,
Jaffa

So, er. The 2nd Law is up for pre-order, and if you plump for the £60 version, you get to download the official video for Unsustainable, immediately. Free of charge.

Sweet lord is it weird. Muse are bringing back the baffling. This is what I've missed. I'm a little disappointed, and yet all my hairs are already standing on end. It's like my body's made up my mind before my head. So bizarre.

Whelp, that was different.  Not being versed in dubstep that was a healthy dose of over-the-top Muse + some what-the-fuckery.

Not sure if I like it yet, but it sure is different.

Dennis DeYoung called and he wants the Mr. Roboto voice effect back. :lol :lol

Like other people in this thread, I think Ariich's referring to Muse's whole "hey lets try to recreate these effects with guitars instead of just buying a macbook with FL Studio for a song" mentality as the opposite of just jumping on a popular trend, which is what a lot of fans have been accusing Muse of doing.  There's certainly a dubstep influence, no one's going to deny it, but Muse isn't pulling a Maroon 5 or anything like that.

I'm still not sure what to think about the song, but I certainly don't hate it.

I only know post-Black Holes Muse so I'm probably not the most informed poster in the world to talk Muse, but I'm going to do it anyway.

To me this song sounds like it's going to have the same problems Absolution did. Sounds interesting at first because it's a quick hitter and doesn't require time to sink in but by the time you've listened 10 times to it you're kind of burnt out and you remove it from your regular rotation. At least that's what Absolution was like for me, and this song sounds exactly the same to me.

To me its sounds like they are more influenced by the ideas of Rage Against The Machine.
They would re-create hip hop techniques using normal instruments which is what Muse are trying to do but instead of hip hop...its dubstep.
I for one like it.

I'm fine with the dubstep influences, but the song itself sounds kinda thrown together, it just doesn't flow. Especially the dubstep bits feel so out of place it makes my head hurt. Maybe a few more listens will fix that, and I'd also need to hear how it works in the context of the album.

Just so you know, Absolution came out before Black Holes and Revelations.

Also, I very thoroughly disagree with your opinion of Absolution.  But hey, that's cool.  =D

Madness is playing on BBC Radio 1 right now.

This album is fucking bonkers. Brilliant. Utterly shocked, but I'm loving this one on first listen.

Damn, that's three songs now, and three times I've been like ???.  Obviously, the biggest test will be once I get the whole album and listen to it from start to finish multiple times, but my hopes for this being something really good are not as high as they were before. :(

Here's a legitimate link if anyone's interested in listening who didn't hear it on the radio. Or if you did, at that.

Good stuff.  Anyone else get a Queen feel from this tune?  The verse reminds me a lot of I Want to Break Free, I think.

Its good I guess.  It didn't floor me and it also didn't make me go "WTF IS THIS" like the last two did, but its good.  Like Kev, my expectations are not for the album to be superamazing.

I'm still looking forward to Chris' songs though!

Not really liking what I'm hearing from these recent songs, but I do enjoy Unsustainable to an extent.
I only listen to electro-post dubprog.  You've probably never heard of it.
