So, still working through the ranking engine and had Cry for Freedom pop up. I was 99% sure that song was on The Astonishing.... Kept looking through the tracklist of that album trying to find it and thought I must have somehow accidentally deleted it.

Totally forgot it was an early Majesty demo, but seriously, with a track name like that it sure sounds like it could be on The Astonishing.

I've got a first draft of mine, and I'm just hitting the Top 10 in my listen-thru.  I found in the first 75 songs, there were quite I few I rated WAY too high, and some WAY too low.  The top 25 is pretty much locked in - there might have be a couple of minor tweaks, but I'm almost good to go.  I may run it thru the ranker and see if/how it compares to my manual sorting.

I tried Tim's abridged version to see if time has changed my opinion of it. 

Nope!  It's still fucking awful  .  There's 1 song that I can tolerate, and one that I almost enjoy.  Ironically, the latter didn't make Tim's abridged playlist!

That's a fair call.  Although 2037 is a while away.  Although mine won't be anywhere near as sophisticated, detailed and clean.

That would be great and I would definitely follow but I reckon a painful undertaking!

I gave The Astonishing a fair crack upon release. probably at least 20 spins and really liked some of it. It just hasn't aged at all for me. The 'cringe inducing' moments now stand out like a sore thumb even though there is some really great moments buried in the album, especially musically. I think I might get a song or two in the top 100, I won't completely discount it yet....
