I'm going to cry if a Houston date on the U.S. tour is announced.

Would be my first DT concert

To the best of my knowledge, the only time they've skipped Houston is on the second leg of their last tour. They still played Austin and Dallas, though.

Just ordered my tickets today... Didn't realize they were all "Evening With" shows till today  :hefdaddy :hefdaddy(and luckily there was some reserved seating available and not just the usual general seating/standing room only)... can't wait for 20 Feb!

Edit to add: :metal :metal

Ticket's here. I bet this'll be the cheapest ticket on this leg (not counting free tickets). 17 € or 22 $  :metal

?

I would happily post a pic of my ticket if it didn't include my full name, phone number and email address (I printed a PDF ticket) :D Anyway, I was glad to see the text "An Evening With DREAM THEATER" in the ticket the first time I looked at it

?

Yeah, but I don't feel comfortable enough to reveal my last name on this board, because I know there are lots of lurkers. Anyway, I want to keep my personal information secret. Of course I could censor those bits in the ticket, but I'm such an amateur at editing photos :lol

wasteland

Or you could just take a photo hiding your name with one finger

?

Good idea, it would also hide the number and the email! I'll take a pic...

It's blurry, but whatever... (and yes, my seat sucks) The rest of the paper is a bunch of ads, the barcodes and some information.

To quote my post in the Manchester thread....

I just emailed ticketmaster to ask a few questions about timing and opening acts... this was my reply.

QuoteThank you for your email.

I am sorry for any inconvenience caused, but unfortunately accurate runtime information is usually only available on the day of the event after any sound checks have been completed. If runtime information has not already been made available, please contact us again after this time and we will do our best to give you an idea of approximate event timings.

The only information we have at the moment is the the door time, door open at 7pm.

Also there will be a support act.

I apologise that I am unable to offer any further assistance at present, but should you require any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us

Alright. Looks like several people have several different meanings for the locution "An Evening With". Let's keep our eyes open.

Huh? This makes no sense. JLB said on Twitter it would just be "[us] and the fans" and a load of people have screenshots of their emails/tickets saying "An Evening With Dream Theater". I have my ticket here from last year at the Wembley show and it doesn't say "An Evening With". Maybe its just a few shows will get the long sets?

Lucien

I really don't want an opening act if there's a Houston concert.

Jinx

Just fired off an email to Ticketmaster regarding the Wembley date. Also to inquire about rough finishing times. I was thinking about getting a train there, however I think they stop at like 8pm :/

I think I'll trust JLB more than some guy from Ticketmaster, not sure why anyone would be asking them in the first place, why would they know?

Just seen the picture in the Manchester Apollo thread showing "Dream Theater plus special guests".

Just hoping that its the orchestra.

MajorMatt

Yeah I just saw that too  :-\

Maybe only a few shows are 'An Evening With...' and the others are standard shows with an opening act.

DreamerTV

As i said on the manchester thread

QuoteGuys, don't worry: it's just a standard ticket. It will be An Evening With without an opening band.

GasparXR

Maybe the tickets are expensive because DT is actually playing the length of AEW show, but with an opening act, making a 4+hour show in total? :o

DreamerTV

I don't think so: doors opens at 19.00, concert starts at 20.00 and the curfew is at 23 if i'm not been told wrong. So the time fits perfectly for an evening with.

Rofl, I didn't even pay attention to that. Another baseless hypothesis by yours truly

Jinx

Dont know if anyone can explain something about the 3 UK shows...

How comes Manchester doors open at 7:00, London at 7:30 and Wolverhampton at 8:00? :/ Is it due to the decrease in size of the venues (Wolves Civic seats less than Wembley for example and therefore less people to get in - less time needed to get show going).

Just curious because if doors open at 8 then they will probably not start til 8:30/9ish. Unless the curfew is extended for that venue...

tartarus250

I got my wolves ticket the other day and I am sure it said doors open at seven

Yeah so I fired off an email too to Ticketmaster. This was my reply:

Thank you for your email.

I have looked into your query and I am sorry to advise we don't have that information at the moment, I have had a look at the Dream Theater official website and they don't have any specific details at the moment with regards to runtime and special guests. I can advise generally that gigs at Wembley Arena tend to finish around 22:30 - 23:30.

I hope this helps!

Best wishes,

Customer Care Advisor

So its interesting that this guy was taking details from the DT site! 'An Evening With' is back on!!  :metal

cyberdrummer

I think I trust JLB (and Bosk). It's going to be An Evening With.

wasteland

If we don't trust them who should we trust?  :lol I'm confident in a EW show, with must minimal concerns.

This.

DP_Gumby

Is it just me or is it odd that Norway still has no date? Or are they saving us for the 2nd European Leg?

bosk1

The upcoming tour will officially be named:  "Along for the Ride."

Thread title updated.
