I'll be off to Manchester then.

I wonder who they will take out with them? I would love it to be Haken.

Naikon

About the swedish dates, I hope that they come to Sweden Rock Festival instead during 4-5-6-7 june. I'm tired of them only coming to Stockholm all the time. They are most welcome to play in Gothenburg :)

cyberdrummer

The press release does indeed suggest that there'll be a second leg. Perhaps they'll do the festivals in the summer, seeing as they didn't this year.

Waaahh no Scottish date!!!!!!!!
:'(

Well that sucks  :-[ The crowd at the Glasgow gig last year was really disappointing though - don't think it being all-seater helped, but it seemed so subdued. I didn't get it, it's Dream Theater FFS, show some excitement and appreciation! No idea if that sort of thing has any impact on where they choose to go on future tours though. Probably not and it was a good turnout, the place seemed pretty full - just no atmosphere from the crowd  >:(

Unlikely I'll be seeing them this tour then. I may be persuaded if the new album is incredible, they play LTL or Metropolis on this leg and/or the support band are someone I really like. Otherwise it's just gonna be too expensive I think  :'(
Whoaaaahh, ohhh, ohhhhh. Whoaaaahh, ohhhhh, ohhhhhh. Waaah, ahhh, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaowwwwww

The Curious Orange

There was very little atmosphere at any of the all-seater shows last time round. I went to Wembley, and I've seen people having more fun at funerals.

cyberdrummer

Yeah, hopefully the band noticed and revert to standing.

Metropolis1928

Not sure if this has been stated, but at least for the spanish shows, if you go to the page of ticketmaster where they sell the tickets https://www.ticketmaster.es/nav/es/musica/giras/entradas-dream-theater/index.html?q=dre&t=fast(here), there's a tiny picture that says "An evening with DT" and in the page where you buy the ticket it says "Dream Theater", nothing about other artists to be confirmed or whatever, just DT.

Sooo... hoping for an official confirmation, but it looks that this leg is going to be "An evening with..."  :D

I'd expect it to have been billed as such in the press release, but here's hoping!

They're most welcome to Stockholm, since it's a lot nearer to where I live  :P

Great find! Hoping this continues onto the US leg.

not sure what happened there but I will try again!! Don't think it was the band or the crowd I think that the all seater venue and the nazi security guards were to blame as they kept telling people to sit down all the time!!

The Stray Seed

?

Reportedly the tickets for Helsinki are 52,50-72,50 €. I hope I'll only have to play the smaller price, because my budget will be pretty tight when I start living on my own!

cyberdrummer

Can't believe the prices though! £60+ for Wembley is ridiculous.

Ticket prices are up, £61.50  :o

Man!!!! That's expensive!!! Here in Florence you just have to pay 40 euros for the show (50 seated).

The last 4 Dream Theater shows I've seen:

2009-10-09 - Manchester - £30
2011-07-23 - Wolverhampton - £34
2012-02-09 - Manchester - £50
2014-02-13 - Manchester - £62

Not sure I'm gonna give them my money this time. I would much rather see a £30-£40 show with a varied setlist than spend £60+ for those large cubes we got last time

tartarus250

I know that is steep but I would gladly pay it if they were playing here!!

cyberdrummer

I guess the ticket prices are just another case of WWRD.

JoshuaB2112

Australia? Surely they can't skip us twice in a row??!!!

Zydar

Well these are European dates, I'm sure Australia and the other countries will get dates too.

John94

I think it's all seater again. Well, Manchester will be. I asked the venue via twitter and confirmed that it was all seating like the '12 visit.

You'll go to 2 shows? Lucky you!

That's the intention. I still have a lot of logistics to figure out  :tup

But hopefully things will shape up the way I want. So, excited you are getting to see the final show? :)

?

Hopefully there will be some rotation so that you won't get the same setlist twice!

It will be cool to see the last show of the leg, but I hope they won't be too exhausted from touring for over a month. On the other hand, the playing will probably be tighter than at the beginning of the tour. Maybe we'll get to witness some end-of-the-tour pranks... :D

chknptpie

If they are in Phoenix on my wedding day next March I'll be very upset lol

Zydar

A question: Looking back at previous tours, how is LaBrie's voice during the last shows? Does he usually sound tired after doing a lenghty tour?

When they've come to Australia, it's been well into the tour, so nothing they would announce right now. Always watch out for Japan tour dates, because Australian shows are usually just after they swing by Japan (and they won't skip Japan).

I notice 3 or 4 shows in a row sometimes.. does that make Evening With a lot less likely?

Yeah, first thing I noticed. That's asking too much of James IMO.

From Symphonic Theater Of Dreams fb:

Quote"An Evening With" is back! It will be amazing tour. Long concerts with new CD!
We are waiting for Dream Theater in Poland. Thanks for our label Rock Serwis for inviting the band to our country.

Ed Hughes I thought they scrapped the "Evening With..." concerts a while ago. Don't think they'll go back to it either, though I would love it if they did. Proof?
Symphonic Theater of Dreams Hello Ed Hughes
It is information from our label. They`ve invited Dream Theater band so they know details of event

Not an official information but very likely! :CJS:

JRuivo

Well I was out of myself when I saw the news "Dream theate returning to portugal" but then... Porto  Thats like the worst city for a gig, since its far from everywhere and the transportation alone exceeds the ticket price...

cyberdrummer

I can see only one reason for going back to the Evening With format: they're going to play the entire new (concept) album as one of the sets  ;)
