We have a couple of confirmations from ticket vendors, also a confirmation from the Polish promoter (we found it out through the Symphonic Theater of Dreams dudes) and the ex-administrator of the Italian fanclub. I think bosk also confirmed this.

I still can't get my head around the fact that they're returning to the Evening With format! This is the DT I fell in love with back in late 2004.

I just really hope that they continue the Evening Withs to the US tour. I've never got to see songs like 8VM, TCOT, or ACOS since they haven't done the Evening With format since I became a fan in 2008.

cyberdrummer

I don't see why they wouldn't unless it's an absolute disaster in Europe.

What did we call the longer shows in South America last year? Those didn't have an opening act right? And weren't those shows just as long as Score and almost as long as Budokan? Maybe just a few minutes short?

?

I have to admit that I'm a little worried, because I'm going to see the last European show, but I'm confident that James and the whole band will be able to pull it off, because (as said) they've agreed on the schedule, so they know they can give us a quality show.

I would very much appreciate it if Dream Theater came to Indonesia. We are an extremely dedicated fan base and many of us have not been able to experience Dream Theater live. Also, I have much respect for Mike Portnoy Mangini, who is one of my idols and a drum god.

....
Ehm, fixed, and, please do.

I think that this VIP thing is BS.
Hopefully they stop at some GA place around here and I can get there early!

I kind of guess the reason why they've stopped playing GA/standing venues and gone for all seaters is exactly so they can start charging silly money for VIP packages. The whole thing is just a cash-grab IMO. I'm a huge fan of GA gigs - the people who get there early and queue all day get to the front - simple and fair.

Well you if check out the dates on their site you will see that quite a lot of them is standing venues. It seems that is only the UK dates that are all seater's. Today bands like DT make their living by touring not by record sales or airplay. So they can cash-grab all they want for all I care

I would be totally dead if I had to stand at a concert for 3 hours or more :lol Luckily the Ice Hall is seated.

Think of this: senator Davis from Texas stood for almost 13 hours delivering her flood speech the other day :D

The show I plan to go to isn't, unless you buy one of those ridiculously expensive VIP things :\

It was there earlier today  :omg:

Hope they removed it to play either at Sweden Rock or in Gothenburg :D
Or they decided to choose a larger arena, Annexet is the smallest in Stockholm with only 3000 in the audience.

She wears a back brace (no joke) ;)

I'm considering wearing one as well. Last time it was a nightmare to stand up with one arm lifted to record the show :D

Hopefully they come to Connecticut again on the American Leg. They haven't been in this state since PN09 and the long car rides aren't pleasant.

This is why I love living in a Los Angeles suburb

shows are never more than an hour and a half away (that's with traffic)

Unless they are in Anaheim, which is like 2.5 with bad traffic but the venue is worth it

Ahhh the good ol days... I grew up in N. Hollywood/Burbank in the 70's 80,s and into the 90's and there were just tons of concerts to choose from!

Now I live kind of in the sticks in Denmark and although I'm glad DT is at least making an appearance here, I friggen wish they'd play the mainland and not always in Copenhagen (which is a pain to get to and expensive) when we have a few really good places they could play much closer to me... Oh well, at least Steven Wilson is playing a half hour's drive from my house in Nov. (and I'm sure I'll make the trip to Copenhagen in feb. to see DT as well  ;)...)

Why is no-one answering this question? :P

Anyway, indeed those shows were 2 hours and 20-40 minutes with no opening act. They're not quite the length of the old AEW shows, but I could see them doing shows this length since they did them just fine in SA.

cyberdrummer

And they didn't have an intermission. I'd expect an extra twenty minutes of music on the upcoming tour.

Is Zagreb close enough?
It is, and I'll most certainly be there. But I got used to Budapest over the years, it's a Dream Theater city of some sort.  ;D

cyberdrummer

I love Budapest in general, so for it to be a Dream Theater city is the icing on the cake!

Does anybody know anything about the swedish date? It's on this thread but not on the official site. Yet, some ticket sites list it as confirmed. Does anybody know what's up with that? Would be weird if they didn't play in Sweden at all...

I'm holding out for a confirmation of a Swedish date. I really really want to see them now that it's An Evening With.

cyberdrummer

I'm pretty sure the Swedish date will go ahead, but I reckon they're waiting for it to be officially confirmed. I'll let you know as soon as I hear.

No problem. I see no reason for the 4-day gap between Copenhagen and Helsinki otherwise.
