Come on, Dream Theatour is almost as bad as "A Dramatic Turntable Of Events"  :lol

Dramatic Tour of Events is a fantastic name, and Dream Theatour isn't almost as bad, it's even better! I think Images and Tour was by far the most genius tour name.

If they come back to Toronto at some point, I may have to attend. I saw them during the Chaos In Motion Tour, and it was my first time going to a show. It was my true awakening as a fan, being able to witness the brilliance up close and take in that live sound.

Personally, I really like the name "Along for the Ride". I think we may learn to appreciate it more once we've heard the song and the album. What I'm looking forward to is the possibility of dark/cosmic imagery and lighting in the background while they're playing the new album live. That would be awesome.

They could call it the     Up Yours Wales (Again) Tour

In all fairness, apart from the Newport Centre (which I don't think was full in 2007) are there any other suitable venues in Wales? The arena in Cardiff is too big.

3rdday

No, you're probably right and my comment was perhaps a little unfair. St David's Hall would be about the right size but maybe not ideally suited to a heavy rock gig. They could have done the Newport Centre, though, which they did 3 tours ago, when James made his "It's been much too long, we must not let it happen again" comment. Just a crowd-pleasing thing to say that he didn't necessarily mean, then. Not unusual for a front man to do that kind of thing, but I wish they wouldn't as it just makes them look insincere later.

ariich

In fairness, they don't choose their own venues. The management and promoters will do that, and the venues themselves.

 Call me crazy - my wife already has, for this and a bunch of other reasons  ;D ;D - I live in Rio and bought tickets for Madrid, Abrcelona and Pamplona, the last one being the meet & greet package. I´m sure they´ll come to Rio at some point in 2014 - they´vee done so since the Octavarium Tour - but it will be cool to see the new phase of the band and also get to know a bit of Spain. this will be the 04th continent where I see the band. these are the shows I´ve seen so far:

1999 - São Paulo, FII Tour;
2006 - Tokyo, Octavarium Tour;
2008 - Rio, SysChaos Tour;
2009 - Perth, BCSL Tour;
2010 - Rio, BCSL Tour;
2012 - Rio, ADTOE Tour.

That's great  ;) I also like to plan vacation and travelling around a great concert I wouldn't be able to see in my home country (like going to see Black Sabbath in Amsterdam later this year). However, up to now I haven't made up a plan about visiting a concert on another continent.  :lol

Wasn't it a leisure centre? I'm 90% sure it was a leisure centre.

This doesn't change anything about the venues in Wales, it's just something I half-remembered.

Sketchy

I wish they would play Cardiff. It's much easier to get to than London. Hell, I'll probably have to take a day off to go to the london one.

Yes it was! I remember queuing outside and watching all the families going for their early evening swim! Bizarre. They also use it for the Welsh Open snooker. It was a very good gig though, and relatively intimate for a DT show in recent times.

The weirdest one for me so far was going from Perth to Tokyo to see DT. On the second night in Japan they did the "Made in Japan" cover, which was great to watch. And this time I chose Pamplona as the place to buy the meet and greet ticket because I think there'll be less people in the queue.

Viking of the Sagas

Definitely going to see DT with family when they come to Helsinki. If I'm not there, expect me either to be dead or comatozed in a wheelchair surrounded by lava and crocodiles.

So glad of the return of the "An evening with" formula!!! :hefdaddy

Can't wait to see them in Paris at the Zenith (an arena with a wonderful acoustic) on january 31!! :metal :metal :metal

(p.s. to TheAtliator: "Images and tour" was a great tour name."Along with the ride" is great also...
but "Dream Theatour" is just ridiculous. :lol)

To be fair the Oasis Leisure Centre in Swindon has a main hall which seats 3,000 odd has hosted some big name (mainstream) bands over the years. Oh and it was the inspiration for the band Oasis!  :coolio

Hoping for a tour date in Greece :-) With Fates Warning preferably like last time!

The only thing that I'm worried about regarding the tour is this:

Why aren't there any date for Norway yet? Usually they announce the Norwegian date pretty early on..  ???

Hopefully we get some news about it soon. Or are they planning on pushing Norway to the second European Leg later in 2014?
Hadn't been so bad to get a spring-ish date this time around, less snow and cold to worry about too.  :laugh:

Hey man...good to see a Norwegian posting here. I live in Rio but work for Statoil - been to Oslo a few times and have seen the Norwegian Wood festival. Cheers!

Finally some good news! And it's the day after the Copenhagen show too. So it seems there's still room for Sweden to get a concert between the Norway and Finland shows.  :tup
