Been a fan of these guys for a long time now, a friend introduced me to them after The Vertigo of Bliss came out (which I still think is their best album). I love the first 4 albums, although when Puzzle came out you could hear their sound beginning to change a little - it still has some of their best tracks though. Was excited for Only Revolutions when I heard 'That Golden Rule' - but the rest of the album was so disappointing to me, hated it all.
Was expecting more of the same from Opposites, but I've listened to it a couple of times and it seems much better. There doesn't seem to be any great stand out tracks though unfortunately.
They seem to have followed a similar sort of path to Muse - for me anyway. Good solid debut album, followed up with their best work on the second. Consolidate nicely with a good third album, then begin to change their sound a little with the 4th, appealing to a more mainstream audience but still having some killer tracks. Then with the 5th album, only 1 or 2 good tracks and the rest really poor. Then with the 6th, things are a bit more consistent, but a lack of really good songs like they used to write.
