I don't know if it was already commented here, but they also aditioned a 2nd night on Plovdiv Bulgaria. Supposing that it will be already the Parasomnia tour,  maybe it will be an excellent opportunity to record the 2 shows and release the best performances of them.

And that's another amazing location..it's going to be a great tour this summer!

Agreed. There's no reason to call people names, over differences of opinion. If a person can't handle someone having a different opinion than their own, they should not be on an online message board.

Yea, I'd imagine it becomes quite the grind after awhile, but playing venues like that would be the best nights ever.

If there was reason...if there was balance...we wouldn't have had to suffer....

SeRoX

These antique theaters can get Plovdiv treatment. Portnoy confirms Plovdiv concert will be slightly different and they'll do some speacial thing.

we still might have to (if you imagine it being played in its relative minor key or something  :lol )

4 new dates in Italy, and their are all in ASTONISHING locations!

Taormina! ("Heaven's Cove!")

WOW... might have to ask someone with more air travel experience that I to plan a trip to this beautiful place.  I imagine just sitting there is incredible; seeing a show there must be insane.  Seeing DT there would be a bucket-list kind of thing.

Hef for mod of the year :tup

Also, those are really nice venues! Will be great to see what changes they make to the setlist for those shows.

Since you're all so tourist-y, just know that the square in Marostica where they'll play is a chess board. No, really, it's not the entire square, but there is a big chess board on the pavement of the Marostica square and every year there's a match with people in costume.

Not that it's gonna matter 'cause it's gonna be covered by seats when DT will play there.....  :D

And Lucca!
Is this the Ancient Ruins tour? Fantastic! The Pompei one is gonna be real special, they must do some Floyd stuff there for sure!

Wow, my wife and I visited Italy earlier this year for our honeymoon and we walked through that theatre! It was during the day so full of tourists but I imagine a concert there would be spectacular with Mt Etna as the backdrop.

Seeing DT there would be absolutely magical and surreal  :o Taormina is a beautiful place.

HOF

How are they able to put on concerts at what I imagine to be highly protected historical sites? There's barely any actual seating at the Lucca site.

They should do a concert at whichever amphitheater was on the cover of Once in a Livetime.

The sound is fantastic, the shows have always a crazy atmosphere.
Slipknot members said it was the most memorable place they ever played in an interview.

I saw from blink182 to slipknot there (even muse, metallica, rammstein played there).

Skip to 1:27, is everyone else hearing the glitchy autotune at the end of that phrase?

On the word Found?

I hear what you're hearing. It definitely sounds like what an autotune glitch would sound like, but I think it was just an odd vocal thing. Again, if they're using autotune, they're doing a terrible job anyway.

TM172003

Yeah, last time someone made that accusation I assumed he was genuinely just improving leaps and bounds as the tour went on, and that the occasional out of tune note proved that he wasn't using auto tune but that really does sound like it to me, although I'd love to be wrong.

I don't mean to bash James though, he definitely is sounding so much better after the first few shows, but maybe they're switching the auto tune on and off at certain points and it was just accidentally turned on at that bit? It just doesn't sound like a vocal inflection to me.

I suspect they're using it to some extent. It's much harder to hear in that video than in the TITL but it really sounds like the same type of glitch that occurred there.

Maybe someone closer to the band can confirm. Noxon?

Edit: and to be clear if he's experimenting with it, so what? He's still singing and as others have pointed out he's far from perfect so it hasn't taken over his performance. *if* he is then it's just been giving a little boost and the fans have clearly been happier with what they're hearing now.

Yeah, I'm with you on that. A bit of autotune would help his confidence, too.

noxon

No, they don't use autotune live to my knowledge - it's notoriously difficult to use autotune live, and usually it ends up sounding even worse than if you didn't use it. Autotune isn't some magic "find the tone" thing - if you sing off key, the autotune has to know what key every single note actually should've been to be able to adjust it - which is hard enough with pop and their scales and chords - but imagine the number of key changes and stuff DT does. It would be ridiculously complex - and require them to time code everything. And they don't, anymore, since Portnoy is back in the band...
