My context on this is only as it pertains to the Denver market, but here in Colorado I would say Dreamsonic was a success for them.

Prior to Dreamsonic I had seen DT on the two previous tours that came through Denver, The View tour, and the tour where they were playing D/T stuff and Scenes (The name of the tour is escaping me). Both of those shows were at the Paramount Theater in Denver (cap 1,865) and each show had 1 opener (90 min DT set) and most importantly, neither was even close to being sold out

The Dreamsonic tour was at the Mission Ballroom (cap 3,600 or so depending on the configuration) and had 3 openers. So they played a larger venue

The Denver show wasn't sold out but it was pretty dang close. I'm willing to concede that the Denver show may have been one of the more successful ones on Dreamsonic, but if it was, it was a HUGE success considering it was significantly more attended than the previous two stops here, even considering the larger lineup AND the fact that Dreamsonic didn't sell out in Denver either

Oooh, good video.

Nice intro and James still not sounding bad at all.

Didn't really know where to ask this, but do we have any guesses on when they might release the show recorded in Paris?

Schurftkut

Parisomnia will probably be released as a double feature after the parasomnia tour. But that's my guess for the reason they filmed in Paris and having a Parasomnia tour right after.

The only live performances I am potentially going to spend money on are Parasomnia so it would be neat to have the Paris set as a bonus of sorts.

I'd take both concerts, bonus or full releases as long as they are well made.

No.

I was actually wondering if they would use video from the shows in some sort of promotion, like for the NA leg coming up, or in the next official music video.

I guess it's about time to start talking about summer 25 European dates. :D

Anyway, seeing the band next summer in Turku, Finland! Haven't seen them in over 10 years.

It's a smaller venue, with capacity of only about 3500. However, the venue has some of the best acoustics in the whole country! :metal

I'm excited, guess I'll be seeing the new album performed in its entirety! I wonder if they bring out some other songs, that they didn't play in 2024.

The Curious Orange

I'd love to see them play slightly smaller venues here in the UK, especially standing. The O2 show was great, but the venue was far too huge. Two nights at Hammersmith again, guys, plus some shows outside of London!

Wherever they play, I wish they'd hurry up and announce them - I need something to look forward to!

gborland

Totally, would love to see them back in proper rock venues with standing areas, rather than seated theatres.

Schurftkut

ha, i was so happy i had a seat in the smallest venue i've seen DT since 2004 last time i went. Sitting 20/30meters in front of the stagecenter was really cool and relaxing XD

Their audience isn't 20 years old any longer.

And plenty of them are not - speaking about US audiences only. Why does it matter to you if the venue has seating or not?

Because being forced to sit in a seat at a metal gig is a crap experience. Kills the atmosphere. I have nothing against older audience members choosing seats at the back or in the balcony, but those who want to rock out should be able to do so.

(This is the European tour thread BTW.)

What I've started doing for concerts is buying seats at the back of a section, so that even if there's someone behind me, they are elevated and can't possibly be bothered if I want to stand up and rock out.

geeeemo

Standing is better. Way more fun. I am 61 now. Sitting at a rock concert is boring. Might as well be at a Broadway play. Those are enjoyable too, but it's not the same. I would think the rock bands prefer the energy of people standing and rocking out.
